About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Great for brunch
  • Good for groups
Originally opened as a Dessert and Cake Shop, a light Lunch menu with Soups, Salads and Sandwiches were added. In 1997 we moved to a larger Unit within the same Plaza. With a larger kitchen it also allowed us to start offering a Breakfast and Dinner menu as well.

In 2016 we expanded again at the current location. This also allowed us to expand our menus further. All our Desserts, Cakes, Pastries and Ice cream are still made on the premises.

The many Awards over the years are a true statement of our efforts to provide an exceptional dining experience by using the freshest and best ingredients.

Always a pleasure to eat here. Food is excellent, service is good, and prices are moderate. Our go to restaurant.

Service was slow. Took 30 mins to take our drink order. Although food was fantastic, we were forced to order off a prix fixe menu which was $75 per person. A little pricy for a soup, pasta, and desert.

Should have gone to IKEA for dinner!!! If I could give this a zero, I would. We had a reservation. As people were arriving, they were handing us a menu and saying “ This is all we have”, which was a pre-set Valentine’s menu for $75 a person. This is not advertised on open table or their Website. We accepted their menu thinking it would be good. First course was an a piece of bruschetta bread. Delicious but tiny. Next was either salad or soup. I asked for my salad dressing on the side. I received it that way, but the lettuce was salted! My husband enjoyed the mushroom soup. Our main meal was horrible. They had three options for mains: I chose salmon and my husband chose steak. You’d think that offering only three main courses would translate to a delicious, quality meal..not the case. My meal consisted of carrots, cauliflower, and a fairly small piece of salmon on a bed of polenta., a bowl of lemon butter on the side. I truly believe that the carrots and cauliflower had been boiled only to warm them. They were so raw and unseasoned that I could’ve asked for hummus to dip them in. The salmon was unrecognizable as a piece of salmon. I believe it was pan fried to the point it was white and the consistency of of dry chicken. We had been given steak knives and I had to use it to cut through the bottom of the salmon after I had chopped my way through a hard outer top layer. No resemblance to salmon in anyway, including taste. Literally could have passed for dried out chicken. My husband‘s steak was grey. No sear marks and so flavorless that he had to pour my lemon butter on top and still no improvement. His vegetables of carrots and asparagus, were the complete opposite of mine. His carrots were burnt in spots. The asparagus disgusting. Completely limp and black. Dessert was not fresh, fake strawberry flavour, seemed like grocery store baked. All in, with one glass of wine and tip, just over $200! Incredibly disappointing. Never again.

We love Apricot Tree & have patrionized them for a very long time. However our visit on Valentines day was only fair. The VD special dinner menu was not great and over priced. Not what we expect from this usually great restaurant.

The food was a good value. We can in to celebrate a birthday (as indicated on the reservation), but nothing was acknowledged by the waiter. He seemed a little distracted and was not attentive to our needs. We had the short ribs, ossobuco, pasta special and the salmon. The food came out hot, but took awhile to arrive (30 minutes). It was quiet that evening and (perhaps) the waiter was at the end of his shift. I guess I expect “better service” considering the increase in “tip culture”.

I have made it a tradition to eat brunch at Apricot Tree whenever I’m on my way to Niagara falls, and it never disappoints! The brunch is always amazing, cakes are outstanding, and the Apricot Martini is my all-time favourite drink. Can’t wait to visit again.
