Pleasant ambiance and a friendly atmosphere. Courteous staff assisted us with care and genuine attentiveness. The service was fast and personable. The food came quickly but we never felt pushed. Our water was always full and out server was always checking in on us without being disruptive. He was very conscientious of where my lady and I were in our conversation before he would ask if we needed anything. The food was very well presented and the flavor was outstanding. I had the beef and she had the ravioli. We definitely will be back for dinner again and will recommend it to our friends.

Never had rabbit before and i was skeptical but this dish was outstanding. A multitude of flavors from the greens, sauce, prosciutto wrap, and meat itself. Perfectly spiced - rich but not heavy. Great service by Jennifer whom I asked and trusted with pairing the meal with a wine which she did to perfection. Very fast meal delivery-fast kitchen yet the meal was timed well and we never felt rushed or pressured. One of our best meal experiences in Boise thus far.

We arrived quite hungry and could not order appetizers until we were ready with our entre orders, we were told this was the chef's need. No bread or other nibble was provided or available. Most of the food - raviolis, halibut, ahi - was ok. Just OK. A highlight was the tempanada on the ahi. The lamb and artichokes were delicious. The water service was attentive and appreciated. Otherwise, the service was quite underwhelming. The automatic 25% gratuity seemed excessive for a party of six..

Everything we ate and drank was delicious but small small portions. We had to order 4 appetizers, 4 entrees and 4 desserts to get close to full because the portions are so small. It’s rare for me to finish a plate, but when there are only 5 raviolis for an entree that is not enough for a child.

This was our first time at the Avery. We went there for a special birthday celebration for our daughter. I was a little disappointed that there was nothing done to celebrate the special occasion, considering we were asked about any special occasions during the reservation process. Other restaurants have done a special glass of champagne, or a special dessert… The food was great and the service was wonderful. The tables were very crowded and small for the 4 of us plus drinks and food. There was a very large group celebrating when we arrived and it made the whole restaurant very loud since the sound carried.

We have eaten at the Avery often. The food is very good. So is the service. It can be very noisy like it was when we there on a Saturday night. But my low ratings arise from our disagreement with the management over their wine policy. I was told that I was not allowed to pour 2 bottles I had already opened and brought from home so I could decant it. Even if I paid the corkage fee. I have done this same thing for years and years at any restaurant we've gone to without a problem. This included 4 nites before at the AVERY. If you don't drink wine then you'll enjoy the Avery. If you do, and prefer to bring your own wine and pay a corkage fee, be forewarned.
