We booked the Barn at Sarrows lodge for a romantic valentines dinner and was not disappointed. The food was spectacular with creative presentation , the vibe was lowkey elegance and relaxed. Every bite was an OMG moment in our 3 course meal. I'm a very good cook, and was surprised and delighted with the unique flavor combinations ,the delicacy and care each dish brought. We will definitely be back !

We were sorely disappointed. My wife and I are visiting Palm Springs for 10 nights and ate dinner at The Barn Kitchen last night. The reasons for our disappointment were related to the service and the food. The food was not that good and there were only two servers for all of the guests. The dining takes place outside and it was quite cold last night. They do provide blankets, but I had to ask three times to have our electric heater turned on. The two servers were working quite hard, but they could not adequately serve all of the diners. One young lady was serving as Hostess, Bartender and Waitress. One young man was serving as Waiter. Our wines by the glass (Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay) were mediocre. I ordered salmon served on a bed of greens and bacon. It was very tasty, but quite salty. My wife ordered the carrot pasta and she described it as “gummy”. It took a long time to receive our food. We have eaten out 3 times over the last 3 nights (Melvyn’s, 4 Saints and The Barn Kitchen) and The Barn Kitchen was our worst experience.

One of the best dining experiences we’ve had maybe in our lives. And we have eaten at several Michelin star restaurants. The aesthetics and vibe of this restaurant are mind blowing and absolutely understand how it won James Beard awards as well as Michelin stars! I absolutely love the very intimate dining setting, with such a small kitchen and wait staff. It felt very personalized and special. The food was also out of this world!! We ordered several different dishes in order to try the different styles and all of them were impeccable!! Next time we’re in Palm Springs we will absolutely be staying at this hotel so we can dine again! This was our last meal in the desert, and it couldn’t have been a better way to end our trip!

Your restaurant and motel are beautiful, your staff amazing. But you need a larger menu, we did not feel we had enough choices. We well try again and maybe learn how to better order. Thanks, Dianna & Robert

A beautiful evening dinner experience. The ambience can't be beat here. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will return and will keep it a secret so that we can get reservations in the future!

We really wanted to like it, but it was freezing cold in the bar area, just one little heater going. Hard, wood bar stools. The food was far more complicated than it needed to be and we are having a difficult time understanding how they could earn a Michelin star based on our meal last night. The pork chop tasted burned, the big eye tuna salad looked nothing like a salad and was too rich to eat, along with the yellowtail hamachi crudo appetizer. Both of these dishes had hardly any fish in them, just small pieces throughout, and were priced in the mid to high $20 range. We returned the big eye tuna salad and began to feel pretty discouraged. The bonito aïoli was too salty and ruined the dish. My pasta with carrot sauce and goat cheese was interesting, all in all pretty tasty dish and it came out of the kitchen, nice and hot. We spent $163 including tip and had to eat again once we got home. Crudo appetizer and tuna salad came out pretty quickly, but we waited over 20 minutes for our entrées. Just a very disappointing and overpriced experience all in all. Friendly server and bartender though! Really cute property. Definitely will not be recommending to family / friends or going back, unfortunately. The owners have their hands in a lot of pots right now around the valley, and we believe the chef was not there, likely two of his cooks instead. Too bad. My wife and I both ended up with upset stomachs by the time we got home and throughout the night. Bummer!
