The modern Australian menu, with its emphasis on fresh seasonal ingredients, offers both small and larger dishes to be shared and enjoyed with friends. Choose from a well-considered wine list with prominence to local winemakers, an exciting range of craft beers and ciders, or a distinct selection of cocktails and small-batch Australian gins and single malt whiskies.

The world of booze, bubbles and beers is ever-changing and The Barre is excited to also offer a range of alcohol-free options.

From a pre-show sparkling with a share plate, a meal with a fine wine or a mellow late-night drink, we invite you to join us at The Barre.

I’m totally surprised this place wasn’t fully booked out. The food was absolutely amazing, beautiful presentation along with reasonable prices. With some of the most AMAZING staff I have encountered. To say this place was 5/5 is an understatement.

We happy houred in the garden area then dined inside. The service was SO AMAZING 🤩 efficient, welcoming and helpful. The Baked Snapper with an orange & ginger sauce was beautiful 😍 The Spring Lamb Shank superb with a side of Charred Broccolini luvverley 👏🏻 A little underwhelmed with the dessert options 😬 The place was pumping with the pre theatre crowd. You definitely need to book👍

Good location for a show. Food not up to quality or value. The half schnapper with "face" was below par!!!

We had another delicious lunch at The Barre yesterday. The service was excellent too. Our wait staff, Ben and Stephan were friendly and efficient and ensured that we were well looked after. I thoroughly recommend The Barre for a great meal.

It’s the wonderful staff who go the extra mile at The Barre that make it a great experience, today it was Tom and others, thank you. Unfortunately we can’t show our gratitude for their excellent service because unusually the venue has a no tipping policy.

We ordered the cheese platter which was perfect for a pre-show snack late afternoon, along with an elderflower spritz or two. Great service, friendly staff.

The Barre is doing a great job as a pre-theatre/concert dinner venue. The service is reasonably quick and the wait staff friendly. The happy hour cocktails are a bonus! I like the way the menu is being updated relatively frequently, and there is good choice in the wine list.

good for a meal prior to a show at arts centre Melbourne or Hamer hall. The new menu is OK but if you can't eat fish, seafood or chilli, it's a bit limited! I would also prefer a more seasonal menu. In the middle of summer there were still heavier dishes on the mains.

Whilst we have had many good experiences at this restaurant, last night was disappointing over all for my husband and I who were celebrating his father's 86th birthday. Thankfully they loved their duck but both our meals were not enjoyable. The ravioli was smothered in sauce and pasta gluggy' his schnapper more bones than meat with an excess of fennel garnish on top. The raddicchio salad more a big wedge of iceberg and uninspiring dressing. The young waiter stood accidently on my toes twiceunder the table without apologising as he served us, at different times.Value for money was not achieved this time unfortunately. We have dined there often in the past and are noting serves smaller, cost cutting with less protein and more garnish . Rethinking our whole dining choices now when going to the theatre.
