Set in the Waldorf Astoria Washington DC, The Bazaar is the culmination of a 30-year dream for Chef José Andrés. Drawing inspiration from this iconic location, which first opened in 1899 and served as DC’s General Post Office until 1914, The Bazaar is a multi-level destination reinvented with avant-garde and Americana-inspired decor.

Lovely for holiday outing - decorations, ambience top notch. Service was good, food ok. Not a great selection of food, expensive 'tapas'. Good to have the experience.

The check-in experience left something to be desired - felt chaotic and they were running 15-20min behind on seating reservations. The prix fixe is a large amount of food - about half of which was delicious (like the endive salad) and half was meh (like the yogurt espuma). The pacing of the dishes and the wine pairings was also slow with long-ish delays between courses. That said, the ambiance can’t be beat!

Surprisingly it took a while to get sat for 2 people (15-20 minutes) even though we had a reservation. Granted it was Christmas. The host was great & let me know her personal recommendations. Customer service was great but a little slower than we anticipated. Again this was Christmas so it could've been an odd day. The wine bottle we had wasn't bold enough but the food and dessert was fantastic! Food is 10/10.

The Christmas Tasting Menu was delicious! One in our group was vegetarian, we informed them ahead of time, and a tasting menu was provided that met our needs. The staff was friendly, efficient, and professional and we look forward to dining there again in the future.

Really good wine and food pairing on a holiday night, always a good time at a Jose Andres restaurant. Not as magical as Jaleo was a few years back, but very very good.
