Welcome to the Black Bull.
Tucked away in rural Lancashire, between cloud topped hills, green fields, rolling pastures, and lots of cows... sits The Black Bull Inn.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Old Langho, our stone building has been here since the 1500s. Steeped in history it has it's own warm welcome to travellers from far and wide.
Our menu is fresh, local and has a nice balance of those "pub classics" but brought up to date in modern and inventive ways.
Dog friendly in the bar area or garden, and plenty of cosy seating available in front of our roaring fires, in The Library, or in our gorgeous, beamed, renovated Fire Barn.

Thoroughly enjoyed the sharing platter and desserts for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was buzzing as it was busy, but the service did not suffer as a result. You pay a little more, but it is worth it for a treat. Masterchef connection won’t do this place any harm!

We had a lunch with business colleagues and the venue was perfect- we could hear each other easily and it was not overly busy that we could hear other tables talking. The food was well prepared and served promptly and we all enjoyed it immensely. The draught beer was good but equally Guinness zero was also available, so we didn't feel the need finish our conversations quickly nor fearful of driving back to the office/home. Would encourage anyone to enjoy this gem on the edge of the Trough of Bowland.

Been the the Black Bull once before in 2021 for the sharing platter which was really good. Decided to go again and really wish I hadn’t. Had soup for starter which was luke warm. Tasted nice but just wasn’t hot. Then the sharing platter came which didn’t have nearly half as much food on as it did the first time which is obviously due to cut backs. The mash was clearly microwaved mash, the roast potatoes were rock hard and we got 1 carrot with a bowl of leaves, sugar snap peas and green beans. We chose lamb and beef which was a disappointment. We got 2 tiny pieces of fatty lamb and 1 piece of practically raw beef. It was disgusting and I couldn’t eat it. I never cook my meat well done and do like a bit of pink but it was raw and cold! Im really disappointed and wont be going again and it wasn't cheap! Its a shame because its in a lovely area and the decor of the pub is beautiful. Before I ate the food I was already planning to come again soon with family.

Another great visit to the Black Bull. We took our friends that had come to visit for a family wedding for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. We all had the Sunday lunch board for 2. Fantastic food as always and more than enough for 2 to share, we were all well and truly stuffed. I would highly recommend anyone to give the Black Bull a try you will not be disappointed.
