Attended a wine dinner there. Food and service were great but the ambient noise, especially from the HVAC system, made it a challenge to hear the presentation, which is what we came for. Will probably come back but just not for a wine presentation

It was a wonderful experience. First time we were there. We had the zucchini beet salad, corn pie and steak. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. His explanation about the corn pie was perfect

The table ordered the braised beef and it had really good flavor. First plate came out cold though and I had it sent back and they brought out a fresh, warm dish. The steak was also ordered and there is no way that was a filet cut. More like sirloin toughness and no seasoning at all. The apple crumb dish and coconut cake were ordered for dessert and no complaints on either one of those. A couple minor service issues for my personal preference occured but no biggie. The one service issue that would not only be better for customer, but also the restaurant to get more customers in, would be the time between ordering dessert and time it arrived at table. It was a little over 20 mins to get the cake and apple dessert.

Hello, we are disappointed to hear about your experience. We're glad we were able to rectify any temperature issues that came up, and you are correct that timeliness matters with dessert. Our pecan crisp is a hot dessert made to order, and typically will take 10+ minutes, but 20 minutes would be unacceptable if that was the case. We can assure you that our filet is a grass fed tenderloin, it would be unethical and illegal to lie about what we are serving to our guests. As a family owned local restaurant, we take great pride in our products and the farms we support. Removing this from your review would be appreciated. Thank you for your feedback and we hope you give The Blackbird another chance.

I came to Asheville and wanted a fabulous dinner. Your varied menu and especially the steak tartare clinched it. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Anne M. Maryville TN

I started with a delicious nonalcoholic beverage which was pretty and tasty. I ordered the pecan crusted corn pie which was very tasty but it could have used a bit more “pie” and a bit less chewy green kale and sprouts. My husband had flounder and scallops. The portion of flounder was tiny which is quite surprising as it’s a relatively inexpensive fish. I had NY Cheesecake for dessert which was sprinkled with powdered sugar and sliced strawberries and it was yummy. My husband had coconut cake which was a ridiculously large serving. It seems some portions could be better defined. The service was friendly and at a southern pace. I would recommend Blackbirds as a good destination. Large windows surround much of the dining room which makes for great people watching.

We loved this farm to table concept with all wonderfully sourced local ingredients. We had an exceptional meal and the vegetarian Wellington, scallops and coconut cake blew our mind. Also, start with the bread 🩷🩷

Call brand drinks good but outrageously priced. Risotto below par.

The Catch of the day, corn-goat-cheese-pie and mushroom risotto were our entrees: each was a delicious, generous, beautifully plated portion. Staff kindly accommodated a request to change our seating arrangement and our server, Arianna, was attentive without hovering and a truly pleasant addition to our Blackbird dining experience. We’ll be back.

The blackbird was great! Food was good, the steak and the scallop and fish risotto are great choices. The Asheville sour was our favorite drink. Jordan, our bartender, was lovely! Would definitely recommend!
