Lovely pub. We sat outside at the picnic tables for our food as it was such a nice day. Lovely quiet place right next to the river. Food was lovely and the staff were super friendly.

We have been here may times, it's a lovely pub in a beautiful location. Staff are fantastic, very helpful and friendly always. Bit disappointed with fish today and changes to coffee cake menu. ( taken off) was nice when you didn't want a dessert!! Annoying chime system in place for service staff, needs switching off please

There were three of us who went to the Boatside for lunch. It was a disappointing experience because one of the meals took twice as long as the others to cook and we were left waiting watching people who had arrived after us get their meals. It would have been helpful if we had been advised when we ordered as I would certainly have changed my order. My partners meal looked as if it had been kept warm while my meal was cooking. Two of the meals were good but the fifty minute delay took the shine off the experience.

Food was great, served promptly but not rushed, prices reasonable for such a pleasant place. Only problem was that we (couple) were seated next to a party with lots of children, who weren’t doing anything wrong, but were very noisy. Might be an idea to keep the family groups in the conservatory.

A pleasant experience. Big change since the previous regime in terms of the cooking standard. Skipped starters bit they sounded good. Delicious homemade lamb hot pot, correctly served with sliced potatoes on top. A tasty gravy which I'm sure was made from stock in the traditional way. My wife's burger got the thumb's up too and also looked home made. Deserts looked tempting, so succumbed. STP is ubiquituous , wish places would try something a bit different as you get this absolutely everywhere, but apparently it was fine . Lemon cheeesecake with raspberry sorbet was scrumptiuos and also homemade I think, so big tick. Friendly service from a charming young lady, and I guessed possibly the patron at the end. Only downside was the gents loo---a communal stainless steel urinal is more suited to a music venue than a high end Inn, otherwise excellent.

Service was very slow. Wrong drink bought to the table and only one bitter available. Food was very average and slow in coming out. Shame as a lovely setting but won’t be returning
