   Boundary House has always been one of our go to places. Last night our party of 5 had a reservation at 8pm. We arrived at 7:45 and we were seated immediately. Hardly no one was there. We waited over 10 min for our waiter to greet us and take our drink order. If they were busy and people weren’t standing around talking and on their phones the 10 min wait would not have bothered me at all. Ordered appetizers of spinach dip and crab dip. When the spinach dip came out it had four whole tortilla chips and the rest were crushed pieces. Asked for more that were whole, but that took 15 minutes. By this time the salads came out. The ones with ranch were fine, the ones with the house made bacon honey mustard were nasty. This is normally our go to salad. Food comes out. My daughter’s $38 filet was supposed to be medium, it was rare. Our friends blackened ribeye was supposed to be medium and it was well done shoe leather. My prime rib sandwich was hard and cold as my fries were cold and greasy. I didnt Even eat half of the sandwich. Husband’s steak and other friend’s ribs were good. Waiter took forever to refill drinks and when he did bring hot tea we had to ask for ice which then took forever. He did ask if I wanted a box for all of my leftovers in which my response was no. A seasoned server would have asked if we needed anything or if there was something wrong when hardly any of the food had been eaten. A manager never came around either. All of the other times we’ve eaten here a manager always comes around asking if all ok (and are helping the servers if they are busy) $222 meal should have been better than this.

   Wonderful early dinner on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant was busy but our service was good and the layout of the restaurant keeps the noise level low. Our food was great! Nice cocktails too.

   Had a reservation for 2 on Dec 30. Very busy, even at 730, and we were seated timely. Drinks came promptly, but Salads came w/o utensils. Large table next to us had same problem. Pepper grinder was broken, and salad runner person has to find another one, as he fetched utensils. Waitress wasn't around. Food came right on heels of Soup & Salads, common problem here, feeling rushed. Food is always good, hot, and well presented. Waitress missed condiments, then didn't see her again, as we sat in front of dinner dishes for at least 10 mins while other passing waiters were timely clearing other tables. These Service lapses are not typical here.
