   The restaurant is great, we wish the menu was a bit more expansive. The staff was great but it felt that they were a bit too attentive, we felt a bit rushed. Multiple staff members came by multiple times to try and collect plates while members of our part were in the restroom. Also, the ambiance is cool, but it is a bit too dark honestly.

   Really great experience. It was our first time that going, and we went to the back for drinks in the private bar. Our waitress did a great job of guiding our food journey for the evening, and we shared a bunch of plates that were really tasty and complemented our drinks. We had the Kingfish Crudo, which was impaired well with the lemon ricotta gnudi. The pasta was fresh and had herbs incorporated into it. The winter berry drink was the best. We understand why this is a Dallas staple.

   Our group of six came here after the opera. The food was amazing. The service was as amazing. We sat in the back room which was new for us. It was the perfect late night dinner at what that night—last night—was a perfect restaurant.

   The service was excellent! Our cocktails were exceptional- very well balanced. Our steak tartar entree was divine. But the 2 pasta entrees we had were not good. One tasted exactly like a can of spaghetti Os and the one with wagu beef was utterly tasteless. It literally had no taste. I asked for salt and pepper just to taste something.

    My wife and I celebrated our 7th anniversary (lucky 7). From the moment we arrived and was greeted by Oliver at the Valet stand, we felt welcomed by his genuine banter, and he gave great menu recommendations too. Nina our hostess, Chelsea our server and the whole team from Josiah, Nate, Jonathon and Austin, made us feel special celebrating our anniversary at The Charles. We can’t wait to go back and take some friends with us.
