We are an independent restaurant in the heart of Chester offering microseasonal dining with menus designed around what's growing on our farm in Daresbury. Menus change every four to six weeks.

Please note we are currently card-only and unable to accept cash.

    As always excellent food and service. A little bit over lit, but we know that is how they are. The Sommelier was very helpful with choosing wine. The wine list is full of unusual bottles so it is nice to have some guidance. Not the cheapest place in Chester but well worth paying a bit extra for food of this quality.

    Although the food was very good and we had an enjoyable evening we did not receive the 20% discount for Tuesday evenings in March that was advertised on their website. We were told we should have written it on our booking. I think this is very duplicitous and left a bad taste. Unfortunately we will not be back.

    Second time visited the restaurant and did not disappoint. Food was tasty and great portion sizes. It is one of the few restaurants that I will always recommend for high quality of food, service and value for money. The Sommelier was very friendly, attentive and ensured we were happy customers. He was the best in providing customer service. My friend who I went with was unsure about the recommended wine with her dish and the Sommelier suggested a few alternatives which was super helpful.

    Visited the area and booked Chef’s table for a birthday meal. Party included two young children who would not be catered for by the menu but the restaurant encouraged contact in advance to ensure appropriate meals were provided. This was excellent service and enabled the parents to enjoy their evening. The evening was a delight. The greeting was warm and the service excellent throughout. Staff were very friendly and attentive, our waitress excellent and the sommelier was very informative when questioned. Clearly loved his subject and added to the meal. The food was excellent throughout. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their dishes and the meal and occasion will live in the memory. Would certainly visit again if we lived in the area.

    A perfect meal. The Sunday lunch menu is very broad and caters well for vegetarian people. The service was professional and friendly. It’s the best place to eat in Chester. Given the quality of the food and drink it is excellent value.
