Welcome to The Chequers, Hainford | Country Pub & Dining Room | We're opening on the 17th June. Come back soon to see our new menu, crafted by Executive Chef Pete Murrell and his team.

Nestled in the Norfolk village of Hainford, you’ll find beautiful, exposed beams, authentic stone floors and open fire places inside this 18th Century thatched country pub & dining room.

A country pub through and through serving local ales, artisan spirits and a menu full of the best seasonal produce curated by Executive Chef Pete Murrell and his team. This is all underpinned by our focus on creating great experiences, an escape from everyday life, whether you’re are with us for a quick drink or dining with friends and family.

    The food was excellent, highly recommended the Sunday roast. The young waitress was so nice and very well clued up on the drinks menu, definitely an asset to the restaurant. This was our second visit and it won’t be the last.

    Most of us had roast it tasted really good but it was not warm enough Very slow service We sat outside but not warm enough xx

    We had a Sunday roast, all 3 agreed it was fab and a generous portion size, with just enough attention from staff, very lovely pub as well

    The food was nice. But I definitely think there should have been steak on menu. My husband and daughter are fussy eaters. So not a lot of option. For what call plain eaters. My daughter who is 12 had to have a kids meal. Which she wasn’t offered a dessert with hers. We didn’t have a dessert again for same reason as above

    Went with a friend who has accessibility needs and asked in advance for a table with space and near loo- perfect spot by the fire was provided. Service great food tasty, well presented and nothing too much trouble for little tweaks. Would highly recommend- fairly high price but good value.

    The food was absolutely gorgeous. Three of us had different meals and we all agreed they were excellent. Service was slow but the waitress was on her own. Hadn’t put us off going again.
