Delicious food. Our server gave us excellent recommendations on the food. If you want your food on the lighter side, make sure you say so - they use lots of butter. It’s tasty but after a week of Christmas food I was looking for something lighter. Amazing Brussels sprouts. Can’t go wrong!

This was my second visit to the Choptank in Annapolis. The first was during the summer. I ordered the crab Ake platter both times and the crab cake was incredible each time. Unfortunately during the second visit, another at my table ordered the lobster Waldorf salad and found it so salty it was inedible. The manager took the salad off the bill and apologized, but for a seafood place, charging pretty high prices, with a pretty limited menu, the items on said menu should be the best quality. I would love to see some seafood options in the children’s menu as well, and maybe add a side to some of the a la carte options. My boys both got steamed shrimp from the adult menu but ended up eating my fries because their food did not come with any sides. After taxes each 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp was over $20 per child and that was all they got. I’ll admit it’s a pet peeve of mine that children’s menus at specialty restaurants don’t typically include the types of food the establishments are known for on them. My boys love seafood, but the non option on their menus left them ordering from the adult menu at higher prices and not a lot of options for a full meal. Our server was friendly enough but wasn’t super present. We had to wait a long time for refills on water. Also, the calamari we ordered was more breaded and fried peppers than actual calamari. Overall I’d say this visit was mid range. The highs (the crab cake) were balanced by the lows (the salad, the kids menu, the calamari, and prices). It’s not a place I’d frequent but is good for a once in a while without my boys.

Lovely lunch break sitting by the water at this great seafood spot. Service was great and waiter recommended a good Cobb salad with shrimp, fried oysters, crab meat and ham. Quite a selection of Eastern shore staples. The place has large windows so you get a view of the harbor and dock area, so it’s fun to watch the people and boats. It’s a winner!

The staff was wonderful on Christmas Eve! Our server Julia was awesome and super accommodating. Elsa, the manager was very sweet and sent my wife an amazing dessert for her Birthday. We had a great time and the views from the upper level at Christmas were beautiful. There were some rowdy Christmas revealers at the bar but Elsa quieted them down. 😎 I highly recommend the restaurant for any occasion. We had a party of seven and everyone left very happy and satisfied.

We spent Christmas Eve at The Choptank. Server was informative but was busy absent. Food was good and plenty as always but could have had more service

Brought my family for a late lunch on Christmas Eve. Really loved the location and esthetics of the restaurant, so I was expecting a meal to match. Where do I even begin? Calamari appetizer - half calamari and the other half a mix of breaded/fried sliced peppers. The menu made no mention of these fillers Meatball appetizer - one HUGE meatball, which was awkward to try and cut up to share Crab cake sandwich - by far the worst crab cake I have ever had. It was drowning in a sauce. Never had a crab cake prepared like this. Fried chicken - so heavily breaded and overcooked Seafood Cioppino - If only they had not salted it like they wanted to preserve it. Probably the saltiest dish I have had in my life. The side toast was chewy with far too many pepper flakes. I don’t understand the point of all the salt and pepper flakes. I left so disappointed and will never go back. What is happening with Atlas management? They have done much better than this. I felt management is trying add fillers and cover up poor quality food. The server was very pleasant, so I wanted to spare her my disappointment, but Atlas needs to know that this was a big miss.

Our meal was good, but the service was meh. I will still come back, though, because generally Choptank is terrific! I’m going to chalk up the service to the holiday season.
