The Conservatory is a family friendly brasserie style restaurant with a light airy interior and uninterrupted views of the Solent. The food here is fabulously unfussy and dishes are created and cooked from the wonderful natural Isle of Wight larder. While away a few hours under an umbrella watching the sail boats zip past or dine by the seawall looking out across the small shingle beach and the sea beyond. We regret to inform you that under our new ownership, dogs are no longer able to be accommodated at the hotel rooms or public areas (including the garden).

I brought my husband here for his birthday dinner & loved it so much we had lunch the following day too. The food was delicious & the garden is such a beautiful place to sit in the sunshine & relax with a drink. Thank you to all the staff that looked after us, see you for our anniversary in September

We left before being served as we sat for 15 minutes without being served so much as a glass of water. I would blame undertrained staff. Really inappropriate gym workout music at volume - it was a zunny saturday lunchtime and diners seemed a bit old to appreciate it. I quite like a bit of music but should stick with something more classy. Stunning venue and menu looked nice. If they sort out service and naff music and we will be back

What an improvement. Very good service with friendly efficient staff and good food. Certainly will be back soon. Think you should allow well behaved dogs back in the garden.

We booked this restaurant on reading it on the george hotel website. And the award winning executive chef overseeing it an the pictures of the food. What it doesn't say is you only get the meat orac fish on the plate and you have to pay for everything else as well. Also the wine list is my way or the highway not everyone wants dry white wines. And they won't let you try many of them if they only come in bottles ! ! As for the food well both my partner and I were totally underwhelmed both my steak and my partners lobster were dry. All in all sorry but this wasn't for us.

What a lovely place to visit and eat. The gardens are beautiful and the dinning setting very pleasing. The food was of an excellent standard and the staff where pleasant and chatty. We would certainly recommend to others. It was a fitting end to a lovely day visiting the Isle of Wight for my daughters 21st Birthday. Alan Gregory

Friendly efficient service and an innovative menu. Extra special on warm days when eating outside and plenty to interest children watching boats or playing on the beach.
