The Cooperage is serving up the ultimate upscale American Comfort Food in the heart of Walnut Creek. The extensive menu features favorites such as a smoked Prime Rib French dip, our signature burger, and the Grilled Fish Tacos.                                                                                   The Couperage is a restaurant I would normally recommend and two nights ago we went there based on my recommendation. Like the ambience, the service, the drink variety although a bit pricey and the food. Unfortunately this last time out of 4 of us who ordered steak, 3 were not made to our order. Mid way I swap my steak with my friend’s. Apparently his was not made to his order. I noticed the difference in the size of steaks as well. So our experience with Steak and Frites was not good. The appetizers were good and seemed like everyone else in our group enjoyed their food. I still recommend this restaurant with the hope they do better with steaks and the frites.

The service was a little slow especially when they forgot the sauce of the fried chicken. All in all it’s a good restaurant albeit quite loud with a good lively bar area.

                                                                                  First off there was a sewer smell when we entered the restaurant which isn’t very appetizing. Drinks were delicious so I hate to leave a poor review when the cocktails were above average! But the food was terrible. Fish tacos were fishy tasting so it was definitely old fish. The salads come out underdressed and underwhelming. It’s a bummer to have such a bad meal when there are so many other great food options around.

Overall, the food was good and majority of the food was good. The Brussels sprouts and spinach dip were the only two items I wasn’t impressed with. I definitely won’t be ordering those two items again but the other foods we ordered were great. Service was attentive and fast.
