In 2004, The Coup opened its doors to Calgary and surrounding areas with the desire to provide a modern vegetarian restaurant to the community. Since then we have been dedicated to delivering a vibrant atmosphere and creative vegetarian fare. Our products have been selected based on a deep desire to support local, make everything from scratch, and celebrate the community we are in.

Our bar program has a strong cocktail focus, with great partners who have aligned ethical and ecologically sustainable practices. We focus on local brewers and distillers, and strive to curate a cocktail menu that focuses on ingredients that are local, flavourful, and unique. We strongly believe that the experience of dining, or enjoying cocktails isn’t only for those who drink alcohol. As such, all of our cocktails are available in a non-alcoholic format, as well as a large compliment of other zero-proof offerings.

Music was very loud, hard to talk to my date. Waiter seemed upset that we didn’t get all you can eat and was very short with us. he regularly came by to ask how it was tasting and walked away without hearing our reply. To the point we had asked for dessert and he came back with our bill and essentially thanks for coming great getting to know you - and we never got our dessert. It just soured the whole experience l. I get that it’s busy, but there seemed to be no effort when he started the night with, “ I’ll take care of you”. Everyone was working hard to get food out, it just overall felt really pretentious. There was one standout sushi that was incredible, the crunch roll, and the other two were good.

Amazing food and services. We were sat at the booth (great story behind it) and it was an overall great experience. From the first bites of the eggplant sushi to the last chee of cheesecake. Everything was fantastic.

Falafel platter and Mushroom fried rice was amazing and tasty. 1/2 price wine was tasty and consumed and the service was friendly and accommodating. PS the Affogato and Cheesecake were over the top! One of my favorite places!

Brunch has lots of vegan options and the food was very good. We ordered the tofu Benny and Treehouse sandwich and were happy with the food. Make sure to specify vegan if you are vegan as we ordered the sandwich with tofu but forgot about the cheese and they do not check. Mimosas were good value and would order again.

My family and I truly had an incredible experience. The setting and the ambience were perfect, food tasted excellent and service was exceptional. Thank you to Liz for executing our celebration dinner so well. We appreciate all the hard work and consideration from the entire Coup team.
