   We had a late lunch so the atmospher was nice and chilled. Staff were lovely and the food was fantastic. All in all perfect.

   Absolutely beautifully cooked food - with such thought to the combination of flavours. So good that we went for 3 courses. Haven’t eaten anything so delicious for a long time. Will be back as soon as we can. Excellent service, great selection of drinks and lovely atmosphere. 5 star!

   Such a wonderful treat with friends. Xx My chops and eggs were the comfort food I had craved while my friends ordered the fish finger sandwich and the lasagna. Thanks so much!

   All good, as always. One minor comment, would have liked some mango chutney with the veggie samosa dish. Other than that most enjoyable.

   I’ve been to The Crown many times, but it was a little disappointing on this visit. We waited for at least 10mins at our table and then had to ask for menus. My friend had the fish finger sandwich, she said there was far too much batter so it overpowered the fish and also made it difficult to eat/ hold the sandwich. Also, when will the trend of food on slabs of wood be over, please can we put food on honest plates, please! I had the glazed ham chop, which is what I always have, it’s delicious , but it hadn’t been glazed and I’d asked for the fat around the edge to be well done/crispy, which it hadn’t been. Also, the yolks of the fried eggs were very well done and not even slightly runny. I also had to go up to the bar to pay after waiting for about 10 minutes at our table with the bill. I know it was a busy Friday night, but I would still expect slightly better from The Crown. Hopefully a one off and it won’t stop me going back.
