The Dorset stands proudly on the corner of Gardner Street and North Road, amongst all the colour and excitement of the North Laine and has been, literally, at the heart of all things Brighton for nearly 200 years.

The Dorset stands out as a true Brighton Classic pub; relaxed, welcoming and full of character. It is popular with a unique and friendly cross section of shoppers, local residents, theatre goers and day trippers. It's the perfect spot to watch the bustling Brighton life go by whilst eating small plates or more traditional meals, fine beers and wines, whether it's in winter whilst sitting by the fire with a warming mulled wine or seated outside in the summer, enjoying a refreshing drink in the sun! Unfortunately the burger my husband was looking forward too was disappointing. The outside of the beef was charred but the middle was pink. The sauce was a tangy zest that over powered what was labeled and supposed to be an simple cheese burger. His fries were undercooked. My broccoli satay was overly drench in the thick satay sauce. And The charred cabbage l was more like boiled cabbage. Sadly it was a very disappointing dinner.

I had the vegan burger it was very great, my old man had the steak and Guinness pie which he really seemed to enjoy too. Great service I would definitely recommend.

Great food, fantastic wine. Great to see a venue doing everything they can to provide a good experience even with all the Covid 19 restrictions in place.

I love the Dorset and even during these tough times it doesn’t disappoint. The quality of the food and the standard of service are still excellent. There was even a nice buzzy atmosphere! (although everyone was very mindful of the rules). Really nice evening.

Lovely place for a meal. All the food was excellent and the staff were great from start to finish. Thoroughly recommended.

Definitely worth a visit. Tadt roast dinners and a cosy, friendly atmosphere. Felt covid safe too.
