   Lovely meal. Only one complaint was my dads pastry was very hard, but otherwise really good. The bill was reduced for the hard pastry! We will definitely go back soon!!!

   Lovely cosy feel and great food. Service was good too, although it took quite a while for our desserts to be delivered. Would definitely recommend!

   Disappointed sadly. Food was good but not great (roast beef excellent, well cooked veg, yorkshire pud tough and sourdough with starter was so dry it crumbled on touch) but the service was very disorganised. Waited ages for starters, then waited forever for the mains. Even had mains placed in front of us then promptly whisked away for the adjacent table (seated after us). Felt sorry for the server who was stressed and awkwardly apologised for the wait. Clearly very popular place but we were not the only diners to be frustrated with the service.

    I must’ve driven past the Duke hundreds of times over the years, always meant to give it a go, and today we did. Excellent Sunday lunch. Thick slices of rare roast beef and my partner maintained it was the best veggie roast she’d had (artichoke hearts and pine nuts). Four year old also loved her meal and the outside garden area. Will be back.
