   Table very cramped & small, shoved in corner of cold room z Beef sunday lunch was shocking Very rare chewy fatty beef, actually unable to cut it and if I’d attempted to eat it I’d have chocked. I was offered a complimentary desert which I declined. Meal was removed from bill, thank you ! I will still come back but hopefully my dining experience will be better 2nd time around

   Party of 9. Sat in a snug room out of view but the staff were very attentive, polite and the service was very good.

   Cute and cosy restaurant in the heart of York! The staff were super friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We went for a selection of tapas and it was all amazing. The Parmesan fries were to die for! We went for a special occasion (birthday), and they brought a special desert for my husband which was a really nice touch 😊

   We booked a table for dinner for 4 plus a baby in a pram. We were greeted in a friendly manner and shown to a table in the snug. A lovely cosy room with enough room to accommodate the sleeping baby in her pram and still have plenty of room for staff to serve and us to feel comfortable. Great food, friendly and efficient staff and good selection of drinks. Great place to eat.

   Our first visit to The Fat Badger as we couldn’t get booked at our usual choice. We will certainly be back. Monday Burger Night is a bargain.

   The best Sunday roast we've had for years! The vegetarian option was really good too. Great service, good portions, lovely service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Couldn't have asked for more - thank you.

   An amazing, quaint restaurant within the Fat Badger Hotel. Great atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Amazing food. Try the Tomahawk Pork Chop. We tried 4 different desserts. All were very good. You will not be disappointed.

   We had a lovely Sunday roast lunch from the Mother’s Day menu — our first visit since the venue was taken over (formerly the Lamb and Lion Inn). We were given the cosy corner table we’d requested, which was perfect. It was a beautiful sunny day, and with the sunlight streaming through the window, the ambience was just right. The roast was probably the best we’ve had in York outside of my wife’s kitchen! The leg of lamb was slightly on the chewy side, but everything else was top notch — a solid 8 out of 10. We shared a sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream for dessert, and that was a perfect 10. I’m not usually a fan of sticky toffee pudding, but I genuinely couldn’t imagine how it could be improved. Service was friendly and efficient. The waitresses were especially polite and attentive. A small hiccup — we asked the young waiter for mint sauce, which never arrived, and he later brought the bill unprompted. Still, this was only a minor slip in an otherwise very enjoyable experience. All in all, a thoroughly satisfying meal — we’d definitely come back again.
