   Relaxed atmosphere, non intrusive but knowledgable service and fantastic tasting and beautifully presented food. Highly recommend!

   Really nice place. Feels like an above average restaurant which is confirmed by the food which is very well prepared and presented. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A very enjoyable experience.

   We booked in for the mother’s day Sunday lunch. The food was delicious. The service by Alex S was outstanding. Even looked after our dog giving her treats and a water bowl. Would highly recommend

   We brought my mother for Mother's Day as the restaurant had some nice reviews and she likes to go into Manchester. When we arrived, we were seated at a table that was dirty and draughty. Apparently it was impossible to move us because there was no other available tables - this did not appear to be the case. We kept our cots on throughout the meal. I would have left but did not want my mother dragged around town whilst we looked for another restaurant. We noticed grime in our drinks and glasses - the waiter changed them out. When it happened again, we realised that there was dirt falling from the ceiling when people walked overhead (we were in the basement) - when we told the waiter we were told 'oh yeah, it's a listed building' ... this is not a satisfactory answer. We ordered the roast dinners and my daughter's came without the advertised Yorkshire pudding - when we asked, we were told it's because the meal is advertised as vegan but the yorkies aren't (well nor is she...)- again, not a satisfactory answer. We were brought the missing Yorkshire pudding but then charged for it despite it being included on the menu. When I queried this, we were told they were old, inaccurate menus and the restaurant doesn't print its own - again, not a satisfactory answer. By the end of the afternoon, I had turned into 'that' customer who was constantly querying/complaining. This is not how I want to spend an afternoon with my mum. The food was nice enough but the ambience, setting and management were really poor and I would not recommend.

We understand that being told the building is listed was not the appropriate solution to the issue, and the teamwork be better informed on how to react in this situation. Additionally the answer regarding the Yorkshire pudding was also not acceptable.    Food fine, service slow and at times rude. Outrageously expensive for what it is. A £1 charge for a Yorkshire pudding on a veggie roast which would have been included on a meat roast feels like being taken for a ride (the roast are the same price and there isn’t a replacement item either)

Comments regarding service will be dealt with in due time with your respective server. As for the Yorkshire pudding, this cannot be included on the vegan roast as it contains non-vegan products. The cost of the vegan roast is calculated excluding a Yorkshire pudding, and to add one on does incur a surcharge of £1. This is unfortunately not a site rule, but instead a company implemented policy. Your comments regarding how you feel about this will be passed on the relevant people, as we may be able to revise charging for a Yorkshire pudding on the vegan roast when the guest is in fact vegetarian.    Really not the best experience. Should have realised with only a few tables taken on mother’s day. Felt like we were an inconvenience. Food was very mediocre at best. Very bland and tasteless. Shame a nice venue.

As with any customer-facing business, sudden changes can throw a spanner in the works and we do our best to recover from this.     Nice inside and the staff were pleasant. But in our opinion it was overpriced for the quality. We have eaten at better places for less. We wouldn't be in a rush to return. Sorry
