   Despite good service and food, the evening was ruined by antisocial, rowdy and loud singing and chanting by a group of men who appeared to be acting like drunken football supporters. We saw no attempt to stop them and this persisted on and off the whole evening. Overall it was very disappointing and seemed a waste of early £100.

   We were very much looking forward to a romantic dinner for two and were seated in the aptly named Great Hall, which was very tastefully decorated. However, there was a very noisy Xmas party going on right next to our table so we sometimes couldn't hear ourselves speak. I had the battered haddock and chunky chips, which was disappointing. The fish didn't have much taste and the chips were dry and I left most of them. My husband had the burger and whilst he ate his meal did not enjoy it as much as expected. I told the waitress why I had left my chips and she later agreed they were dry and had deleted the cost of my gin from our bill as a gesture of goodwill, which was appreciated. On leaving I noticed other diners were seated in a much quieter room and would recommend that 2 diners are seated in there if a large party are in the Great Hall. The ambiance in the sofa areas seemed very nice but we think the food and drinks are quite expensive for what you get. The service is very good though as can't fault the waitress we had. Just disappointed with the food and price of a drink as husband's pint of lager shandy was over £6.

   Super lovely friendly lady who served us. Food lovely. Will definitely be back, perhaps for dinner in the great hall which is gorgeous. Overall, a lovely lunch.

   Loved the welcome, friendly and excellent staff ( the lady behind the bar really looked after us which made the whole evening a pleasure and she took the trouble to show us around ) - really charming venue which has been tastefully brought together - food was great too but it was the whole experience and ambience of going to this venue which is going to bring us back .     Great welcome and the best staff we have received in a long time - quite noisy as was a large table in the room we were - food was fine but on smaller side and the 3 meat roast is not worth the extra money as amount of meat is no different from just having one option which was disappointing
