Welcome to George and Dragon! We aim to serve the best quality fresh seasonal food, locally sourced in our 13th Century pub. Newly refurbished with an extended garden area our dedicated team welcome you with a friendly smile in a warm and friendy manner
Rob, our Head Chef, sources Kentish ingredients wherever possible using local suppliers. His sole aim is to create dishes that showcase these products in the best way possible.
With an extensive wine list and cocktails aligned with local cask ales we have something for every taste and ocassion.
Three roaring fires in the winter months make for a cosy environment if popping in for a quick drink and a portion of 'Aubergine Meatballs' to share or a sumptous Sunday Roast with a bottle of Chateau Pontesac.

Lovely food, great service (and they turned down the volume of the music when we requested that it might be a bit quieter). Perfect place to stop when walking nearby.

The pandemic has not been kind to eating out and the G&D has put up prices significantly, charges 12.5% service charge, but is not delivering at that level and is now brewery owned. Having used the G&D for 33 years, with it changing ownership a few times, this will be our last meal for a while. It can remain for drinks and nibbles but not for food. The service was very good and attentive, but the food was mediocre at best, with a steak and sides at nearly £40…. London prices without the delivery (London is often poor now as well due to Labour shortages). Wine remains fairly priced at about 3-4x the buy price. The short drive further to The Hare at Langton (original owners unless something during the pandemic has also changed) is better until the G&D can understand their local clientele need more than it currently delivers.

Staff were attentive, dined on a monday so quiet but food came out quickly. Bread and butter starter which is enough for 2. Fish and chips was great, great portion size and very well cooked. Would recommend.

We would not recommend because the menu is full of garlic laden dishes, with little choice. It is obvious the food is bought in ready made. A shame because in days gone by this Pub/Restaurant was outstanding and had excellent chef(s).
