The Grand Tier Restaurant is located inside The Metropolitan Opera House and offers both a la carte and prix fixe menus. The restaurant welcomes the general public, not just ticketed guests of the Metropolitan Opera House. Reservations required. The restaurant’s location makes it the perfect pre-theater dining experience for all guests of Lincoln Center. The exquisite modern American cuisine and classic dining room, highlighted by Chagall murals and brilliant Swarovski crystal chandeliers, make it a memorable destination regardless of the occasion. Our doors open two hours before curtains go up.
Ticketed guests of the Metropolitan Opera may also dine in the restaurant at intermission, but must pre-order and reserve via phone: 212.799.3400, or email: thegrandtier@patinagroup.com . Reservations for ticketed guests dining at intermission ONLY, are not taken via Open Table.
Please note that proof of vaccination is no longer required.

There is no vegan dessert. Very disappointing. The pear salad was wonderful. The squash was underwhelming.

We were looking forwad to a wonderful dining experience. The ambience was terrific - quiet and beautiful seting. The service was good but a bit rushed. The food was a dissapointment and certainly did not live up to its exhorbitant price. Been there done that.

The whole meal felt completely rushed. They wanted us out of the restaurant in time for the 7:30 curtain of the opera BUT we were not going to see that show. We had a later curtain time. Also $20 for a club soda? Ridiculous.

Food quality has been consistently poor this season; it’s a shame given the solid sevice and setting, and the ridiculous price

If you are seeing any program at Lincoln Center and you can fit this into your budget, this puts the cherry on top Stunning environment, incredibly well-timed as they contact you beforehand to find out which show you are seeing and when it starts - the servers are all aware of your timing and you don’t have to think at all about the clock The prix fixe is a limited menu, but there’s something for everyone, the portions are generous and it’s paced beautifully. The food is very good, but it’s the lovely and calm environment that makes it so worthwhile. My daughter and I eat here every year before the Nutcracker at the Koch Theatre as a gift to ourselves. You leave feeling well-fed, calm and far from reality. It segues into your performance seamlessly, which is the goal of this lovely restaurant. Hope you can give it a try!

Great experience dining at the Grand Tier Restaurant. The staff were extremely helpful, walked us through the menu and made excellent recommendations. The food and wine selection were really excellent. We have been at the restaurant before and will dine here again

We used to eat at the Grand Tier a lot in 2018-2020, but yesterday was our first time back to the opera and the Grand Tier since the pandemic. The food and service were noticeably kicked up a few notches. Thanks for the great dinner!

One of the most fun meals of my life and I would happily go again and pay their exorbitant prices with a smile. But it's not because the food is unspeakably amazing. My food was good was definitely not the transporting experience that other meals at this price point have been. But other meals I've had at this price point weren't served in a glamorous opera house with crystal chandeliers and red velvet walls, and with a wonderful whisper-quiet ambiance (those beautiful plush walls suck up a lot of sound). It's an experience. Dress and up and enjoy it and relish feeling (or being) rich.
