The Green Flash is an iconic waterfront dining establishment in Captiva, Florida. Come by boat or car, sit indoors or at one of our outdoor dockside tables for lunch or dinner service. The Green Flash serves traditional American fare with a distinct European influence. The kitchen uses only fresh ingredients, including market-fresh fish in all its from scratch dishes. The full bar provides plenty of drink options and the dining rooms and patios provide beautiful views of the water while you eat. Enjoy your meal as you watch the many pleasure and fishing boats depart and return from their excursions!

The Green Flash's menu begins with a range of starters like oysters on the half shell, smoked salmon, hot flash shrimp and mussels. There are plenty of salads and soups on The Green Flash menu as well, like the grilled chicken Caesar. Larger dishes include chicken porcini and pan seared diver scallops.

While the food was pretty good, poor service ruins a meal every time. After making the waitress aware of an onion allergy, I was brought the shrimp bisque (which contained onion) and even though I brought it to the staff’s attention, the waitress neither removed it from the table or took it off the bill. Waitress left most of our finished dinner plates on the table, even through dessert. It was a shame because we had a great table with a lovely view and the food was otherwise good, but the wait between each course was way too long. We were there almost 3 hours.

Eating out doors on Captiva is excellent! To have fantastic service and great food just add to a great evening. The Green Flash has been our go to when we want to see a great sunset afterwards. This time was just like past trips. Superb from start to finish! You won’t be disappointed.
