    The Hare & Hounds is a stunning early/mid 18th century building that has a wealth of character that's recently gone through a much needed decorative refurbishment. The small but beautiful building itself is perfect for 50-75 guests, but include our great size gardens and we can easily accommodate up to 150 people. Private events are very welcome.

    The place was closed, ourselves and multiple other family stood outside waiting even though we booked tables. Open table took the reservation and didn’t notify differently. Looked through the window and it doesn’t look like it’s trading or has been in a while. Even on their Facebook they are updating saying book tables for mother’s days (today)

    IT’S NOT OPEN!!! We booked and turned up for Mother’s Day, for it not to even be open. No one was answering the calls. I ended up having to cook a roast myself. This needs to be taken off of OpenTable immediately!!

    Unfortunately having booked a table in advance we were let down last minute after we phoned to check what menu was on offer for that evening and being told that they were closed. Disappointed as we have read good reviews recently and wanted to give it a try.

    Disappointed. I checked the reviews before dining here and they were good. Everything states homecooked which we love but sadly we were extremely let down. I chose this place as we wanted to take some friends for dinner for a nice relaxed tasty meal. We opted for the Ribs as the Gentleman said they have been in cooking for 8 hours and they were not great at all, in fact flavorless. I opted for Katsu Curry but it was a bowl of onions and peppers with some chicken breast added. Katsu is a breaded chicken but again it wasn't that tasty. The steak our friend chose he didn't even eat and he loves his steak. He said it was very fatty and not enjoyable. The people behind us were swearing and burping so it was exactly the nice couples meal we had planned. The place could do with a massive face lift and invest in some more comfortable furniture. Sadly we would not return.

    First time visiting this fabulous place, found the staff helpful and friendly, nice atmosphere and food great too. We will definitely be back!

    Sunday lunch was good. We usually prefer a carvery so we can have a choice of vegetables. The serving we had was ok but not quite what we would have chosen. Very nicely presented and the crumble was delicious. Would certainly go there again.

    Pleasant setting. The table for two was directly in front of the main door. However the gentleman did close it and offered us a seat outside. We sat outside and were forgotten about. We waited an hour for our food. Once it was noticed we hadn’t received our meal the landlord sorted things out for us. He was very apologetic and took steps to address the oversight.
