The food was good, no complaints other than everything was £2-£3 more than nearby venues and there was no apparent reason why. The place was busy but it seemed to be full of people who wanted everyone to hear their voice resulting in lots of good mannered shouting and laughing and the low ceilings simply amplified this. Would I go back? Yes but not for a special occasion and only if I could not sit next to the LOUD people who were everywhere, at the bar, at the tables and outside. Only made decision to go about an hour ahead and what a find. Good atmosphere in the pub and the food quality was every bit as good as at the Ashdown Park Hotel which has two aa rosettes.
Good wine list and excellent Harvey's beer.
The sauce with the Hake main course was superb.

Another fantastic meal at "The Hatch" in the space of a week !!!
This time table of three. Two of us had the rib eye as it was amazing on our last trip here and was mouth watering again and those chips are something else !!! The other meal was Halumi and was very tasty .
The three of us had different desserts and all went down very well !!
We'll most certainly be coming back . Maybe try a Sunday roast next time !!!
