   I really wanted to like this restaurant as the menu seemed interesting. The tuna tartar appetizer was good. The tuna and Halibut entrees however were not. Tuna was not flavorful. Halibut was overcooked and too saucy to make up for the fish texture. Service was good as was the ambiance but overall not impressed.

   We were referred to The Hill by family members that have been several times and I can understand their hype. First of all, what a beautiful restaurant, the one word to describe it is “classy”. Our server Sohee was attentive, without hovering which is always a turnoff. We had our 1 year old granddaughter with us and she treated her with the same level of respect she did the adults at the table. And the food was scrumptious, all our plates were clean when they were taken away.

   Food really needs an upgrade. Menu is small, and prices are high compared to new restaurants in the surrounding area. Trata on the River, Bar Mutz, Verana - all with similar prices, but offer a lot more (increased food options, better taste, much cooler ambiance). Even aStern and Bow across street has a better atmosphere, tastier food, and superior service priced mindfully. I’ll note that front of house manager seemed welcoming though!

   The restaurant was quiet on the Monday night that we were there. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The service excellent. The food delicious. French Onion dumplings unique and light tuna tartare perfect! The main courses were wonderful also, halibut vinaigrette and pork shoulder with cannellini beans.

   The food was exceptional! We had the calamari, mushroom soup and arugula salad for appetizers, brick chicken and ahi tuna entrees, and a side of the bolognese. Everything was cooked to perfection, including my son’s buttered pasta with cheese! For dessert, we snagged the last piece of Xmas Eve tiramisu and it did not disappoint! The ambiance was comfortable and cozy and we felt really taken care of by the staff! Cocktails were also fantastic & we went to go back soon for live music at in bar on Thursdays! 10/10 no notes!!

   I pushed my family to come here for the second year in a row for Christmas Eve. They didn't want to return, but they did for me. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. We were seated right near the door to the host stand and it was FREEZING. We had to eat with coats on and could not see or enjoy the fireplace. The food was just OK. A great deal of food went uneaten. Two of us had the filet mignon which was chewy and lacking in flavor. The polenta appetizer was so over-fried that it was hard to eat. The shucked oysters were nothing special. One of us enjoyed the duck and another the fra diavolo from the specials menu, however, and the fries here are always great. Two of us had the chocolate cake dessert which tasted like it was made from a Betty Crocker mix box. Even the decaf cappuccinos were bitter and disappointing. We did not order alcohol, and even without that expense, the meal cost over $365.00. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

    We dine here frequently. The food is always consistently delicious. The mixed drinks are good too. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.
