Chicken pot pie was bland and mushy. Pot roast portion was about 1/3 what it should’ve been for the price. Sadly, we have given this local spot multiple tries for dinner and they’ve yet to deliver a tasty meal. Brunch, however has been pretty good on a few occasions.

To be honest the Bloody Mary could use a little work and the Bison Burger was just so so. I really wanted to love this place and based on the yelp reviews I thought I would. The Chicken and Waffles was the highlight to breakfast and I would recommend them to anyone. The service was friendly and efficient. Parking was easy and it’s always fun to find new places downtown.

On this our third visit, once again we had a delightful evening. With a large group of nine, we had impeccable service, perfect timing, and delicious meals for the entire table. This is such a lovely place to have a quiet meal, with resources from local farmers and vendors. It's a gem indeed!

Food was really tasty and the menu has a lot of great choices. I had the sweet potato hash. The Gouda cheese was a really nice touch. The atmosphere is really nice too. Easy parking. You won’t be disappointed if you eat here.

Nice, quiet breakfast with friends. Our daughter had introduced us to Homestead for Mother’s Day. Good food. Not rush. Good locally sourced ingredients. Eli, our server, was personable and lovely. Def recommending to friends.

I'm a person who would rather eat at home than go out, so going out is a special occasion. I was looking forward to The Homesteader as I had never heard of it before and I liked the menu, but the food was the biggest disappointment I've had in a long time. The pot roast had about 2 ounces of meat and no flavor, the mashed potatoes tasted like instant, and the carrots were bland. We didn't even finish that plate. The brisket came out with 3 pieces, one of which was about 80% fat. I complained and they courteously sent out 2 more pieces, but I couldn't believe that someone would even send out a plate with a piece like that. Other than that, the service was great, the drinks were a better value than other places, I liked the atmosphere and the location and I loved the beer selection. I would have rated it 4 stars, if the food was even average (5 stars if the food was good). I rated the service 4 stars because it was great, but they sent out that piece of meat, which baffles me. I rated the ambiance only 4, because it felt like a restaurant in a ghost town. It needed some soft music or a band or some kind of activity. JUST because of the food, I will never go back, because I can get better food for my dollar somewhere else. And that is really disappointing, because I was excited about the menu before going there. If the menu changes, I would give it another shot in a heartbeat.

We’ve been here twice and the food can be very good. This visit was bad. We were seated right away for brunch. We sat for 15 minutes (along with 2 other tables) before anyone came to take a drink order. We only got the drink order because another table stopped a male waiter; who said loudly, “This is not supposed to be my station, now I’ve got 4 extra tables, ugh.” We ordered our food (no one ordered meat, mostly cold items or eggs. No one came by to check on us or tell us our food was on it’s way. We waited for 50 minutes, never had coffee refilled even when we asked, and never got our food. We left $5 on the table to cover 1 coffee/tea. Sadly we will never be back. The worse part, besides leaving without eating, was the condescending attitude of the waiter.

I was thrilled they took reservations for brunch! However was disappointed in the service. Our waiter had too many tables and so things took longer than you'd expect...
