Serving home-made food using fresh, local produce is a priority for us. Our butchers, fish, vegetable and cheese suppliers are all local companies, hand-picked for their quality, and with seasonal menus we use the freshest ingredients all year round. We have such an array of fantastic produce available around Dorset and the Jurassic coast, it’s a delight to keep the menus simple and craft them around what’s fresh and particularly delicious that week… along with keeping hold of a few of our resident British favourites.

                                                                We took our friends from Canada here to show off good local cooking and the Ilchester Arms did not disappoint. The hotel front gives nothing away but once out in the back garden you see what a fantastic location it's in. With it's views up to St. Catherine's Chapel it really feels a social place to be. And the food was lovely too. Between the four of us we had pork hash and picalilli, brill and samphire, crab with pear and hazelnut, seafood chowder with scallops, confit duck, and Dorset sausages and mash. All delicious and reasonably priced.
