Food was lovely and once seated some waiters knew the food and were very good. Others not so. The waiting area because they were not ready for the booked time was shocking. 4 couples huddled by a stair and a door. For such a high quality restaurant. This was terrible. The tables way too close to enjoy any privacy and the Dj playing music so loud that conversation was difficult. Would not go back. There are places to eat in Brighton far cosier and cheaper for the same quality food.

Our first visit to the Ivy Asia & we were not disappointed. Saturday evening & full to capacity but service was excellent. The ambience, décor etc. is fantastic - they had a DJ but the sound was not intrusive & he was accompanied intermittently by a young violinist who was superb. This was an excellent experience & perfect to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We had a lovely late afternoon meal yesterday - the food was as always amazing and we were served by Reece who was just a brilliant server. Helpful, funny and incredibly attentive. His knowledge about the food was excellent too. Every time we eat in the restaurant it never disappoints.

The food was amazing as was atmosphere , and weve been to the ivy several times including nye last year so were big fans !! We were left with a bad experience when collecting our coat , we had a ticket for our coat but when we went to collect it it wasn't there , initially they said had we already collected it ( obviously not ) it was a very simple system that somehow didn't work ( where you get your ticket and where the coat is stored is right next to each other ) tbf the ladies did apologise but at no point did they say go inside have a drink on us while we sort it out and view cctv , we were left standing in the walkway with other people trying to get by while we waited for cctv to be viewed and the manager being contacted , there was no solution offered if the coat had been taken bareing in mind it was approx 2 degrees outside , 20 mins we stood there and by some miracle the cost appeared- brought to us by who can only be described as a cocky young man - at no point did he apologise for inconvenience etc , we asked him where it was and all he kept saying was it was upstairs and there had been some miss communication ( no explanation how it got there ) like I said it's a simple process that somehow went wrong!!! To make matters worse when we said we would complain he gave a smirk towards us !! Not the server you'd expect from anywhere let alone the ivy , I work in retail and give better service to someone buying a tin of beans that what he did to us after we'd spent nearly 3 hours there and spent to us alot of money !!!

Food was fab. Only criticism is that we were very rushed. Waitress was taking plates away almost before we had finished. The service all seemed a bit "pretence" and not very genuine. Shame cos food was lovely.

have been many times and always the same complaint. when you order a bottle of wine or champagne it takes so long to arrive, sometimes after your food has arrived. On this visit the champagne was ages in coming and was warm when arrived. the waitress did exchange it for a cold bottle but this should never happen in a restaurant of this standard. They have changed the menu and taken off a lot of the sashimi dishes which leaves the restaurant now just an expensive Chinese. struggled to find anything we really wanted. Tempura prawns always good. maki rolls average. massaman curry was dreadful. 3 tiny cubes of lamb (weirdly literally cubes like a small sugar lump which I have never seen with lamb, questioning that it was fresh lamb??) and other than 3 cashews it was void of any substance. a bowl of gravy would have described it better. staff that greet you are always super friendly and obliging but service staff are 50/50. they can be efficient but too serious and verging on moody. food is average and when you are spending £300-400 per visit you do expect more than they offer. We said last time that was our last visit but our daughters persuaded us to return. we were not impressed this visit so we shared some starters but left and went to the Coalshed restaurant for our main course! wont be returning.
