We were there on a busy Sunday brunch/lunch time. We were surprised to learn that licensing in NI on a Sunday is different. We had been looking forward to a Bloody Mary on arrival just before 12 noon to sip on whilst choosing our food but were told we'd have to wait until 12.30 due to licensing laws. Obviously not the end of the world but a disconcerting start to what we'd hoped would be a relaxing lunch. The service was slow. The food was good but not dazzling - a disappointing lack of a simple, crisp green salad to accompany the cheese soufflé and overly dry Yorkshire puds. The environment is bright and uplifting as with all Ivy venues. The ambience was good.

Read some bad reviews elsewhere, but our experience was 5 star, especially the ambience and polite efficient professional staff. We will definitely be back.

In relation to my starter one of the ingredients was coriander which I asked to be excluded When it arrived it came with coriander when I pointed this out to our server she simply said “oh my bad” that was the height of her apology Also despite there being a lot of staff no one approached us to ask how our meal was or offered any recompense for the starter error That said the main course was excellent Based on the overall experience I still paid the discretionary trip but the experience should and could have been much better

We were seated in an area that looked liked it was used for private dining. The restaurant was busy we had booked in advance and didn’t expect to be seated here. Room was quite cold and not atmosphere. Food and service was excellent . Just disappointed at area of seating. Felt we weren’t part of the restaurant.

Having been to the Ivy in Dublin, I Was disappointed with my visit to Belfast. Booked for 5.45 . Table wasn’t ready until 6.10. No offer by waitress to take our drinks to the table. Cold inside as well. Meal a little cold too. Disappointed.

Very disappointing. Busy Saturday afternoon, table had been booked well in advance for my daughters birthday. Arrived on time, table not ready and asked to wait at bar. Bar staff rushed off their feet preparing drinks for diners, took 10 mins to get a drinks menu and another 10 mins to order. Finally seated 35 mins later, food order taken 20 mins later and then food arrived after @ 40 mins. Mushroom risotto was dry and tasteless, looked like it had been sat congealing on the plate. Blacked cod was extremely salty, fish and chips were very good though. Deserts probably made the meal but overall would not be rushing back as there as much better eateries in Belfast. Decor is outstanding, staff although attentive and plentiful appeared stressed and a bit miserable. (2nd time visiting but probably won’t be back, 1st time was shortly after opening and had a excellent experience) however this time quality of food was mediocre, overpriced and service inattentive.

Fabulous food, staff and atmosphere . The only place to dine in Belfast after 9pm, still buzzing at 11pm. From the greeting at the door until you leave, a wonderful experience. Belfast is lucky to have an IVY.
