   The restaurant was extremely hot and I had to go outside twice just to cool down and go back in. The crème brûlée was clearly left out for a long time before it was served as the sugar that is supposed to be crispy was just soft and like jelly. The whole thing was room temp. A grill main should come with a side. Paid £28 for a sirloin and it didn’t come with a single side, the fat wasn’t even rendered. It was very tasty but frying the fat side a bit is chef 101. Also the bottled water wasn’t even chilled. That’s not all to say it wasn’t nice, it was a lovely meal. The pomegranate and spiced pear Bellinis were amazing and the sticky toffee pudding was the best I’ve ever had. But when you’re paying all that money, you’d expect the basic chilled water, included sides, and normal structure of a standard crème brûlée. Also just putting a glass dome over a dessert for no reason doesn’t make it fancy, it was just unnecessary.

We appreciate your comments on the crème brûlée, steak, and water, and I’ve shared them with our team to improve where needed.    Amazing 5⭐️service indeed. I was served by a young lady whom was so patience as I waited for my friend, (12h00)She kept on reassuring me that it’s okay to wait and I shouldn’t worry. (2 black ladies) She also made a comment that she didn’t know it was so relevant to me at the time. I lost my brother in December 2024, another one in 2023 totalling my lost siblings to 5! So, she said to me, ‘just relax and spend this time to enjoy yourself’ This was so profound as I had not gotten those simple words that yet meant so much to me. The Asian Floor manager was very attentive also. Thank you The Ivy Team.

   Decor is fun and interesting/cool. Very full on a Saturday night but speed of service good.

   Busy, team were rushed off their feet, service was slow and those little touches of great service missing. Prices have gone up significantly which you don't mind paying if the service and the value is maintained. I think the Ivy needs to up their game. That said they were packed so I guess customers are happy with what they are getting, I think we will try some of the new restaurants in Oxford, who will be working hard to win over customers. In summary, food great, service average no special and price, value expensive for what you actually get on the plate.

    Great experience. We have 2 allergies in our group- nut and pepper. We felt safe eating here. They took great care to provide a wonderful tea for both allergies. We called and told them of our allergy in the reservation. They had already prepared food for both. It was so nice.
