The experience was average, the food was average, the service was average, The venue had nice decor but that was really the only positive thing I was able to say about the ivy.

Normally a great experience, however four of the six main meals were poor. The steaks were tough and with very little flavour, and the one fish meal was quite dry! This is very unusual as this is a regular for us.

Not as good as previous visit. Price increases are noticeable, as is the deterioration in the kitchen’s technical skill. I won’t hide my disappointment.
The Ivy Temple RowResponded on November 15, 2024
Hello Dominic, Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We deeply regret to hear that your recent experience did not meet your expectations especially as you have dinned with us many times over the years. While price adjustments have been necessary due to rising costs, we strive to ensure they are matched by value and quality. We shall be sure to look in to the meals that you had and passed along your comments to our Head Chef to look in to further. Your disappointment is certainly not the lasting impression we aim to leave, and we hope to welcome you back in the future for a better experience. Many thanks, The Ivy Temple Row

We are a group of friends who used to work at the same company and meet at the Ivy in Birmingham twice a year. We usually choose from the 1917 menus, which has 2 courses for £19.17 with dessert an additional £5, which is good value for the service and quality of food in the centre of Birmingham. The drinks are expensive, but probably no more than other places.

Service was glacial and poor attention to detail when asked for a portion of marmalade and got strawberry jam for example. Bacon was poor.
