    The clam chowder is one of the best in Newport! The staff is very friendly and provides a great service. The view is breathtaking and relaxing to look out into the water.

    The setting is beautiful and elegant from a bygone era. The food is locally sourced and delicious. Cornbread’s Clam Chowder is a must order. In the summer, you can enjoy classic cocktails like an old fashioned or a side car in an Adirondack chair on the sweeping lawn while taking in views of yachts on Narragansett bay.

    Four of us went for Newport Restaurant week on a Thursday afternoon .Three of us ordered the pumpkin bisque as an appetizer and raved about it. I ordered the small leaf salad which was light and refreshing but also full of flavor. Bright and crunchy pomegranates added the crowning touch. We also enjoyed the Roasted Cod on a bed of white beans which was delectable. One of our party was celebrating a birthday and was able to choose a dessert which was the most delicious layered parfait topped with a birthday candle to make a wish. Our waitress was knowledgeable and very attentive. It all made for a lovely and relaxing afternoon. We highly recommend it.

    The bahn mi was inedible- the pork belly was under seasoned and the bread was soak through stuck to the plate The pappadelle was gummy and undercooked The grilled cheese was very good

    We ordered the same meal at lunch during restaurant week, oysters with a delicious mignonette followed by a cod dish in a warm bean broth. The flavors were wonderful. We each had a glass of wine and were impressed with the wine list. My husband enjoyed a cappuccino and we shared an apple gateau for dessert. The setting is gorgeous. Everyone from the valet who parked our car to the hostess and waitstaff were warm and professional. It was a real treat!
