   We all had the BBQ chicken wings to start. There was a good bowlful of wings with a decent amount of chicken on them and the bed of slaw they were served on was delicious. I could have done with a little more BBQ sauce and a spare bowl to put all the debris in!! I had the 10oz sirloin steak with pepper sauce and thick cut chips. The sirloin was almost as good as a fillet and the best steak I have had for some time. The pepper sauce was a proper pepper sauce and you could really taste the black pepper in it, it was of the right consistency and colour not pale and watery that you get in many establishments. My wife had the seabass and the sauce served with that was really tasty and the tenderstem was cooked just right - not too al dente. The fish was lovely. My daughter had the fish & chips but it would be even better if the batter was slightly thicker and more crispy. The fish itself was very nice. The chocolate brownies were very good but the amount of brownie deserves two scoops of ice cream! All in all a lovely meal.

   It was early Friday evening in January. Our first visit- it is not going to be our last! Lovely welcome. Lovely atmosphere- two wood burning fires. Cosy but open. We sat downstairs. Nice bar area to sit and have a drink. Wonderful food - would recommend the Scallop Cassoulet and Mackerel Pate to start. Pork Belly and Rump steak. The Mango Cheesecake is absolutely delicious. Staff were attentive without being overly. The prices although a little more than other similar restaurants are balanced by being different and of good quality. Would highly recommend a visit.

   A compact menu with enough choice.Pleasant background music in the nicely warm restaurant.Food came quickly and was piping hot. Service was a little slow towards the end of the meal but it was 7pm at this point. Everyone really enjoyed the food and thought that the portions and value for money were very good except for the scallop starter that was disappointing for the money. Overall a great experience and we will visit again.

   First time but definitely not our last, everything about our visit was top notch. Service was attentive, food was mega. What a lovely place, will be recommending to our friends

   Great lunchtime food and lovely place. The kitchen is open so you can see in and all spotless. Would happily recommend and will be returning.

    Excellent food served by very polite, efficient young female. Very nice wine to match. Beer was spot on and served by a very polite barman who assisted with making sure that my elderly mother was able to navigate stairs.
