The Lobby Nesplein Restaurant & Bar is a traditional Amsterdam restaurant in every sense of the word. The restaurant itself is located in Nes, right beside the historic Dam Square. The Lobby's staff are well aware of Amsterdam's friendly and liberal heritage and embrace that history with open arms. The atmosphere is friendly and communal, with several big tables to accommodate large groups of friends or to allow guests to make new acquaintances. The restaurant is subtly lit with low wattage bare bulbs to give it an intimate aura. The Lobby serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with unique menus for each. Dinner is the most popular time to visit the restaurant, so reservations are encouraged. Popular dishes include Atlantic cod filet with lemon polenta and duck leg confit.

The Lobby is a spacious cafe on the NES. Room between tables make conversation possible. It’s a young professional scene with a relaxed feel. Food was good as was the house wine. A close walk from our hotel made it an even better choice. Had we discovered it earlier in our stay, we would have returned.

I walked there 20 mins to find out it was closed for renovation. They did not close open slots on open table. Very disappointed.
