   I think because it was Jan 1st perhaps they were short staffed. Everything was beautiful. The food was great. We did have to ask for our waiter to pour the wine when we’d waited awhile with empty glasses. We will still be back.

   Sadly we had to send two of our four entrees back. The duck smelled and was inedible and the chicken paillard was terrible.

   We had High Tea and it was amazing! Great tea selection and the food was great. We will definitely be coming back soon!

   Beautiful property, charming staff and delicious food! I particularly appreciated the cozy fireplace and will certainly encourage people to visit.

   We visited for brunch and it simply exceeded expectations. The service was amazing and while we weren’t sure about the menu, everything we ordered was so delicious. I highly recommend the gravalax pizza, eggs Benedict, the waffle, beef fat fries…we could go on. The grounds are impeccable. It simply did not disappoint

   We had booked a reservation weeks in advance not realizing it would be a Christmas Eve pre-fix menu. In their defense we did not ask about a different option: so maybe we could have ordered off the menu if we had asked. But the pre-fix menu was not priced on the menu and was tons of food. We could have easily shared one, but instead had to leave so much food behind (as we were flying home the next morning). The bill was a good deal larger than I expected (which again, I could have asked what the pre-fix would cost). The food and service were excellent, I just wish we could have ordered off the regular menu and/or shared one pre-fix meal.

   Unfortunately, for the price of the prefix menu, it was quite a disappointment. The service certainly did not reflect the quality of food.

   Underwhelming. And that’s sad to say, given the restaurant has two Michelin stars. Our server was okay, seemed rushed as she had several tables. Instead of coursing our meal, she brought several things at once then we waited for our main dish. The scallops were interesting, were they scallops, were they fresh? Shaped unlike any we’ve seen. Having recently dined at The Plumed Horse and Le Papillon, which were exceptional, this restaurant missed the mark. Is whoever’s behind the restaurant “too self referential”?

    Although we were excited to return to this beautiful and historic location for a special birthday/holiday lunch, sadly, it was a disappointment. Definitely not the Michelin key experience, yet the prices were set for that award. Be prepared for a bare, uneven wooden table, no placemats or decor to start off your meal. Told later, tablecloths or table decor is an upcharge. Also an added 4% “Green” fee on the bill that is explained with an info card. Our meals were just ok. Chicken on the salad was pounded thin and very tough. Kudos to our server who was sweet and worked hard to try to take care of us. We were prepared and willing to pay higher costs for a special experience, sadly, it was not delivered. Although to learn of the special events they will be doing in the future, we will not be returning and will not be referring other wine country visitors to visit.
