   Really enjoyed our time at the Marine, celebrating my birthday. Thank you to the staff for excellent service, beautiful food, and reasonable prices. Really loved the ambience and decor as well as the location. Will definitely come again.

   We’ve been regular visitors to the Marine and have seen good service and ok service but our visit this time was very very good. The food was excellent and a new menu, we chose the fish specials. The quality was as fresh as you could wish for and lovely combination of flavours served with friendly staff. Drinks were good, a decent wine list and a proper pint of Guinness that’s obviously well kept. Will definitely be booking again this summer

   Superb meal and great staff. Many options to choose from. Very efficient and lovely atmosphere. Certainly would return again.

   I booked a table for 7.45pm via opentable, but my daughter was told on arrival that we had 12 minutes before the kitchen closed so we felt incredibly rushed. Don’t book tables for a time where you know that customers aren’t going to have the time they need to settle, have a drink and choose what they’d like to eat. My Caesar salad was served in the smallest bowl in the world and I didn’t think the chicken or the croutons were of suitable quality. I’m assuming the chicken was originally frozen, it was not nice. However a few members of my family had burgers and they said they were really good.

   I booked a couple days before our visit and received email confirmation and a handy reminder a couple of days before. Our booked table was ready when we arrived and we were able to add one additional guest with no fuss. The table was laid with everything we required and a quick explanation of how we could order meant we had drinks very quickly and our food arrived very shortly after. The quality of the food was very good, both ingredients and presentation. The entire group commented the value was exceptional. The front of house staff were very busy but always attentive. We live 200 miles away but if not I’d be here often.

   Visited Sidmouth for a long weekend, ate here twice. Excellent service, atmosphere, menu…. Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect. Everyone was really welcoming, including to our dog, Freddie. Thank you

    Initially we were surprised not to find a Sunday roast on being offered, but the explanation that early season means that they can't guarantee not to have wasted meats made absolute sense! There was such a great choice of fish on the specials board it made it difficult. As it happened all 4 of us chose the trio of fish and we were not disappointed - the fish was perfect as was the accompanying veg - simply delicious! All in all a terrific experience - we will be returning!! Alan PS
