   We have decided to make The Mexican our go-to for our Christmas celebration with one of our best friends from now on. We started at the bar for a cocktail before we were seated in the beautiful main dining room. Our server, Josa (sp?) was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. He pointed out the customer favorites for all parts of the menu. We started with ceviche and queso fundido for our starters, and we had the trio of enchiladas, the ribeye steak, and tacos for the main. We wanted to share everything and Josa did the honors of separating the starters and the mains onto three dishes. As we were finishing our first course, a tequila sommelier came to our table who gave us a mini course on the correct way to taste tequila. Free, interesting, and fun! We finished with the Quatro Leche cake for dessert which was delicious. All in all, one of the best dining experiences for me in the last three years. It’s not cheap, however. All in, dinner and cocktails were north of $700 for the three of us. But, we said we’d definitely do it again. Thanks all for a memorable evening!

   I have been to the Mexican several times and the service has always been top notch. Yesterday was not as good. Waters were not filled in a timely manner. Salsas were not presented and explained. Instead they were put on the table and nothing else. I had to wave the server several times to approach the table to take our order. I hope next time the service will be back to normal.

   I had yet another fantastic experience! The service and food both rated a perfect 10. The staff here are incredibly attentive and friendly. I brought my co-workers for an early Christmas dinner, and the service was outstanding.

    My name is Dr. Don Arnette, I’ve been to the The Mexican multiple times. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience due to Victor Willis. I was wearing slacks and a Dolce Gabbana cashmere sweater which said Dolce Gabbana on the front in small print. Mr. Willis said I was out of dress code, he called my cashmere sweater a graphic Tshirt. He told me to put on a very inexpensive sports coat and referred me to the website where it clearly states graphic Tshirts and hats are prohibited. This ensemble really diminished the upscale environment they are seeking. I found it very interesting that Mr. Willis was not interested in enforcing the dress code on non African American patrons. I saw at least 3 men wearing cowboy hats in the bar area. My wife and I were the only African American patrons visible at that time. This selective enforcement of the dress code as well as his extremely loose definition of a graphic T shirt was very disappointing. For the record, Dolce Gabbana does not manufacture graphic cashmere sweaters. I’ll be sure to inform my social network about this disparaging treatment of African Americans at The Mexican. Very disappointed.
