We attended the 'Curry at the Murray' night and it was absolutely phenomenal! It was one of the best Indian meals I've ever had and everyone in our group agreed. As a vegetarian, it can be quite difficult to find exceptional food in the region, but The Murray Arms always deliver great variety and interesting flavours. The service was exceptional - every single member of staff that we encountered was so friendly and helpful - a real credit to the establishment. We will definitely be back for the next curry night - thank you!

The food at The Murray was lovely and staff are very friendly. Portions are large. I had the pork it was beautifully cooked, very tender. I will definitely return and eat the same again. Service could be a bit swifter, we waited 45 mins from placing our order to receiving our main course but if you enjoy relaxed dining this would suit.

The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The building had been tastefully decorated - lovely. There were repair jobs needing completed in the ladies’ toilet e.g. toilet seat was squint, the toilet roll holder was squint/loose. The taps were loose. The food was ok. I had a plant based burger. It came with chips but for the price I would have expected salad garnish. My adult children had fish and chips which they enjoyed. My husband had pan fried chicken which he said he would not choose again. The previous time he had curry which was so runny it was difficult to eat. He would not have that again. He enjoyed his sticky toffee pudding. My son had baked cheese cake which appeared burnt in places. I really like The Murray. I feel the food was better at Gather which is no longer offering meals which is such a pity. I would suggest the owners visit places like The Swan in Kingholm Quay and Cavens in Dumfries. The food is very good and there is more choice (too much actually). How do they provide good quality food for similar prices? Some research is needed in this area.

We came to the Murray Arms for dinner as we were guests in the hotel, so decided to try the restaurant. We checked in no problem and was seated quickly, staff gave us plenty of time tk look at the menu, choose a drink, etc. Menu had lots to choose from , quite a good variety. Only concern was the time it took from us ordering our dinner to actually getting it, we waited over 1hr and 10 mins, it was busy, so we understood their was a wait, but that felt that was alot when we got seated to wait that long, however when we asked staff to check this did speed the dinner up. All together lovely place, with a noce atmosphere, would recommend to others and if in the area would look to return.
