   Had a full on Easter entertaining at home so fancied a local meal out. Very nice meal & efficient/friendly service.

   Food and Staff, Good as always. Very Friendly staff. Beer and wine good. More people should use The Olive Tree.

   We enjoyed our lunch visit for my Aunty's 90th birthday. We had a lovely table with fresh daffodils and a birthday banner...she was very pleased. Unfortunately, my first choice of food was unavailable and there was a wait. But the service and ambience made up for it. Would definitely recommend.

   ‘The best haddock and chips I’ve ever had’ my husband said. And you were so patient waiting for us to all get there. Please thank the chef for making such a delicious meal, which we then extended to 5 and not 4! Thank you!

   Wont be returning I don’t usually write reviews but I wanted to draw your attention to the poor experience we had on Mother’s day (2025). We are locals and have been going to the Olive Tree for 6 years now. We have, in recent times noticed a swing of rising prices and decreasing quality on our past few visits, however our experience on Sunday was such that we now deem the quality unacceptable. I ordered at the bar inside and the food almost beat me back to the table. It came out so quickly we almost sent it to another table as i couldn't have been ours. The portion was tiny, with a single carrot, three potatoes, and two slices of Lamb which were smaller than the slices of beef you get in a supermarket sandwich packet. We noticed straight away that there was no sauce as advertised on the menu, to which we had a sassy response. we were told they had run out of cutlery The menu also said we could ask for more veg to which i did straight away with such a small portion, to which we were given just three additional potatoes between the two of us. The food itself was stone cold. The potatoes were hard and tough and frankly disgusting. My lamb was grisly and chewy and also stone cold. The only item with any heat was the gravy. The Yorkshire pudding was clearly not fresh. The pork belly was had clearly been sat under some form of heater and was dry We spoke to the manager who admitted the food was cooked in the morning before service, then warmed and served as ordered. They charge similar prices to high quality gastro pubs, with the sunday roasts over £20 each for this. The food was inedible and I had to get a refund. I complained via email after and no one bothered to respond. We wont be returning

   Had a lovely Sunday Roast here before , so decided to go back and was not disappointed, best Roast dinner in the area .

    Sadly, we did not have a good evening at The Olive Tree on this occasion. The service was very slow and the waiting staff forgot to order our starter and just appeared with our main courses. It felt very cold in the restaurant, so we did not stay long after eating. Previous visits have been excellent, but the menu has changed and was not very inspiring this time. Unfortunately we will not be rushing back which is a shame, as its such a great pub.
