Awful Christmas dinner experience. About half the entrees were not available including all vegetable sides (6:00 reservation). Garden room was cold. Waiter was very nice and tried his best, but it was a tough situation. Food took a long time to come out and was very pricey. Would never go back.

Made a reservation on Open Table for Christmas Day. They were very busy, and we were seated at our table for 2 approximately 45 minutes after our reservation time. While we waited to be seated, we had some great conversations with people at the bar. Bar service was good. Once seated, we were against the wall by a window where it was drafty and easily 20 degrees colder than anywhere else in the restaurant. A holiday specific menu was available, and there were 9 choices, When it was time to order, we were told that they were out of 3 of the choices. I settled for the ravioli which was good, but nothing special. My wife did enjoy the ham. When we were enjoying our dinner, we finally were able to move to a different table that was much more comfortable, but located on a very busy walkway in between rooms of the restaurant. As one who travels 50% for business, I see a lot of restaurants and the good and the bad and generally do not write negative reviews. I felt as if there is a lot of room for improvement regarding food availablity and taking care of drafty seating locations. We do intend on returning on a non-holiday day as we like to try historic places, but will not return on a holiday

We had dinner at 5:30 on Christmas. Special menu was only offered and three items were already gone off the menu. The temperature in the garden area was 65 degrees and they did not even have tea when ordered. The server was good and what they did have left on the menu was done well.

Sadly the Pineville Tavern is one we really enjoy going to BUT it was terrible on Christmas Day., Over booked and under staffed. They left us waiting at our table for 10 min then it took over 15minutes for our drinks to come and I had to signal the waiter 2 times for even that level of service. By 4:30 pm the kitchen was out off 2 main entrees. My husbands enter off prime rib was cooked nicely. but was ghee smallest one we had ever seen. My ravioli was Luke warm at best. it wasn't worth sending anything back we had already been there 2 hours. Several other tables were just as poorly managed and people left without paying or grumbling out loud. Seems like they did not anticipate ,being the only locval place open, that amount of food and or staff that were needed. They also accepted "walking" which was not a good idea! Aslo the valet service was overloaded and couldn't find cars.. we finally had to locate ours by walkjinbg the parking lot

Nice place. We were there on Christmas for the 2nd time. Wasn't as good an experience. Granted it was a holiday and very busy, but we had reservations, but still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Bartender had to wait on us for our meal. He was pleasant enough, but seemed like he was busy with the bar, so the whole process was very slow. having owned a restaurant, it seemed like either they were overbooked or understaffed. We would go back, but probably not on a holiday.

We ate here on Christmas Day and the entire restaurant, tavern and porch were extremely busy. The Pineville Tavern was ready for the rush ! Service was very good and the food quality was excellent. Snapper soup was outstanding. Already spoke about going back next year if not sooner.

The mashed potatoes were a bit too salty, but otherwise, the meal was excellent. Our server, Conor, took great care of our table. This is a great place for special occasions. I would also recommend the Pineville Tavern for a regular meal. By the way, the side dishes on the Christmas menu were mostly potatoes. This may have been the best way to handle holiday dinners. Best wishes to the staff and servers

We had reservations and showed up on time. We were greeted by the hostess and she took us to the noisy Bar area for seating. My wife immediately asked her to seat us in the restaurant area, which we passed through on the way to the bar. We seated and waited to be waited on. The room we were in was part of the old tavern built in 1742 it had history. The room was not decorated for Christmas but we conversed about the history. Unlike the online photos, the room was NOT that way. No table cloths the napkins were paper. Anyway, it was from 1742. We’re were greeted by our waiter and ordered or food. Meanwhile the room was filling up with other customers. As time went by we couldn’t help but notice the customers that had come in well behind us were being served their food. After seeing about five tables served I asked the waiter when we could expect ours, he said he’d check. About five minutes later out it came. Now keep in mind we had been seated for at least 45 minutes by this time. The FOOD. My wife had ordered the crab cake with grilled Brussel sprouts. The crab was great full of meat but, the sprouts well let’s just say WAY OVERDONE. My daughter and I had ordered the steak. Mine was BURNT on the bottom and hers was underdone. Sine we had been there for almost an hour we didn’t send them back. We finished and the waiter brought our bill. It was correct and I signed a copy BUT WAIT it was the wrong copy. My wife read the fine print on the MERCHANTS COPY. If I had left the customers copy they would have changed me an additional 15%. SO BE AWARE. Bottom line our dining experience was less than we had expected. Maybe a steak sandwich with fries would have been better.
