Gaylords now rebranded as The Plantation House by Gaylords offers one of Kauai's most beautiful settings for lunch, dinner and happy hour. Located in the historic Kilohana Plantation home, diners are seated around an open-air courtyard with views of the plantation grounds and Mt. Waialeale in the distance. Our kitchen uses only the freshest, seasonal ingredients supporting our local farmers and fishermen. Our 67-acre sustainable farm provides much of the produce and herbs used in our dishes and cocktails. Menu items include starters like fresh Ahi poke, fried brie, fresh seafood, delicious steaks and vegan entrees too. Don't forget about our famous Banana Cream Pie for dessert! Take a walk around the Kilohana grounds, shop in our assorted boutiques, visit the Koloa Rum shop, go on a rum safari adventure or take a ride on the plantation train.

                                                      This is a locally owned and operated restaurant with great food and a friendly, hard working wait staff. We’ve dined at most of the well known restaurants in Kauai and this is the best. You won’t be disappointed.

                                                      Lovely in every way.. Jason was our server. He was warm, friendly and efficient. The fresh catch was delicious and the nonalcoholic coconut mango drink was refreshing. My husband had a mai tai. It was great too. We may even go again before we leave.

                                                      I made a reservation through OpenTable for an indoor table at 7:15 PM. When we arrived at 7 PM there were many people waiting at the welcome desk but no one working there for more than 10 minutes. We all sit around wondering if you were open. Finally the seating of three parties began and we were seated outdoors even though we had requested indoors, and there was no explanation given even though there were seven tables open and available before and after our meal at the indoor location. The receptionist seemed confused, stressed and not caring. On the other hand the food server was great, even though our meals were delayed for fifteen minutes due to running out of an ingredient. Will not be going there again.

                                                      This was second time visit here. The main dish was served very slowly. The table next to us, which arrived later, had already finished their meal while we were still waiting. When the food finally arrived, my order of Hokkaido Scallops was so salty that it was almost inedible. Overall, the food quality was very poor. The French Onion Soup was also extremely salty, and the flavors in general were disappointing. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. It’s not worth the high price. A truly terrible experience.

Best meal in Kauai and beautiful atmosphere! Accommodations for eight people! Definitely going back before the week is up!

                                                      Eating outdoors at Gaylord's is a wonderful experience which we've enjoyed for almost 20 years. The setting is unparalleled; and the food is wonderful. We had the fish tacos and the fresh catch of the day--both mahi mahi. Both the flavor and presentation were beautiful. We further indulged with the goat cheese cheese cake with lemon curd. This beautiful dessert was presented with artfully placed raspberries and nonpareils-type confections decorating the plate. It was wonderful. My only complaint: a 20 minute wait for our reservation, despite arriving on time. (Hence the 4 stars for service. Our server was fine.)
