Probably the best home cooked food we’ve had in a long time. A proper Chef, who had created the dishes from fresh ingredients. Energetic and welcoming owner. Warned on arrival of a large party arriving at 1330, however the staff coped well and our food arrived in a timely fashion. The ray wing, freshly sourced from Brixham, was superb, highly recommended! A lovely ambiance and genuinely helpful and friendly staff. Definitely an Inn to visit. Thank you Guy,his family and staff.

The atmosphere and general ambience was great. The landlord was welcoming and regualrly updated us on when to expect our meal to be delivered. When it was delivered it was tasty and good value.

This pub was recommended to us as we were staying locally for a couple of days. From the moment we walked in the pub, we were made to feel welcome. The place has a very intimate, cosy feel and was fully booked for a Tuesday evening so do book if you decide to come for food. The menu choice on the board was very small, but I like that. The pub was doing an offer on Fish and Chips so we both decided to go for this. Portions are a good size and everything was cooked perfectly. We even had room for pudding and both our choices were very nice. The drinks are pricey but that's to be expected wherever you eat out. Overall a big success and we would definitely return if we were staying nearby.

This is such a perfect country pub. The welcome is always very warm, the food is excellent (both quality and variety), and the wide selection of beers well kept. It is equally lovely outside in summer or inside in winter. We have been visiting for many years and it is always superb. Makes a great day out from London or Oxford, walking for about an hour from Charlbury station through the Cotswolds countryside.

A very welcoming team looked after us and the food was great - steak night Thursday. 2 x steaks and a bottle of wine for less than £60 was good value.

A wonderful meal in a friendly pub, with the aroma of wood smoke adding to the atmosphere. Only issue was that there was not a toilet suitable for disabled customers.

The Plough has a great atmosphere as it's what I think of as a proper English village pub with a very friendly landlord and staff. The food is also great - I particularly enjoyed the scallop starter with black pudding and risotto (delicious!) and my main course Plaice was also really good. My husband also enjoyed the mushroom starter and his Wagyu burger. We look forward to visiting again soon.
