   Limited menu. Steaks minimum 2 persons. So this leaves not much else on the menu especially if one person is vegetarian. . Some dishes expensive for what they are. I mean a basic burger for 22. Desserts for 15 although quite nice.

   Welcomed at the door by owner Jill, we were off to a great start! We sat in comfy chairs at a table in the bar area with our dog. The style, decor and ambiance throughout the whole of the pub gives a really comfortable, home-from-home vibe, clearly put together by someone with a great personal eye for detail. Excellent service throughout from everyone. The 'while you wait' starters were AMAZING - we tried all 4 and they totally tickled the taste buds. Fish n chips for me and pan fried cod for everyone else - all really delicious! I can't recommend this pub highly enough. We parked at the pub and walked along the river, had a nice coffee stop at Coppa Club at The Great House in Sonning, and walked back for our wonderful lunch at The Plough

   Such a fabulous place. Like being in a country house hotel. The decor is high end and stylish. The service second to none. We had Sunday roast as a family of five with grown up children. The fire was cracking in the grate. Warm and cosy on a dreamy January day. Every table was full and turning over. But always felt quiet and easy to hear everyone speak at the table. Highly recommended!!

   Excellent Sunday lunch, we arrived early for our booking and staff were welcoming and accommodating. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The starters and roasts were delicious, we were too full for desserts. This is a lovely restaurant to visit, the decor is amazing and facilities excellent. Looking for somewhere to eat, try the Plough!

   Had a lovely time at The Plough (again). Took my Mum and sister for a dinner and drinks to catch up and chat, The Plough once again, didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious, service outstanding and ambience is perfect for a cosy winter night dinner. Will be visiting again!

   A beautiful warm and inviting country pub, complimented by exceptional service and incredible food. We walked from Henley through Harpsden Woods into Shiplake and enjoyed a fantastic lunch. Couldn’t fault anything. We have dined all over the area and it is so rare to find a place that delivers on all fronts. Cost, ambience, service and food second to none. Can not recommend enough and can’t wait for our next visit!

   Sunday lunch was perfect. The fish and chips was described by our guest as the best she had ever tasted. The rest of us had roast beef which came with all the trimmings and was extremely good. As usual the service was very attentive and speedy without being intrusive.

   My wife and I visited the plough at Shiplake as a birthday treat. We really enjoyed the food and drink. The staff were very friendly and professional. It was a very cosy environment which was perfect for us. Highly recommend. Thank you to our waiter who made our evening feel special.

    Menu choices very good. Very pleasant venue although it was challenging to find the large car park in the dark! We were not a bit under pressure-first in, last out! We would definitely return.
