this really is a hidden gem in the heart of the Gaslamp. If you didn't know it was there you would walk right by, in fact the first time we went we walked right past it. But, it is so worth it when you get up top the pool deck, the bar space is lovely and the ambience is fantastic. The menu is great and the drinks specials are awesome. Above the hustle and bustle of the busy street below, you would never know that just one floor down was 5th St. I recommend this spot for a great chill space to enjoy with frineds.

I love Justine and Ryan. They are the sweetest workers there and remembered me right away which made me feel at home. They’re so attentive every time I come in and definitely make the experience a 1000/10. Always coming back

Made reservations 2 weeks in advance, confirmed table day of, and when we got there they said they don’t accept evening reservations anymore. Disappointed.

We made resos for 730pm and showed up at that time. The hotel staff directed us to enter down the street at the pool house entrance. We walked there and all doors were locked. We went back to the hotel and told them the doors were locked so the staff said they would ask the manager. He returned and said he would swipe in the elevator to allow us entrance through the hotel. We went upstairs and couldn’t access the pool area without a swipe. Some hotel guest opened the door for us and it was dark/quiet. We asked them if there was a restaurant there and they told us it’s closed this time of year. We literally had discussions with 3 hotel staff and NOBODY knew one of their restaurants was closed!?! We managed to access another one of their restaurants and had a good experience there. They blamed OpenTable for the error.

We arrived at the pendry and were shown how to get to the pool house entry. We were walked over, but when we checked the door it was locked. I called the front desk at the pendry and they told us to come to the front desk and they would let us up. We walk back towards the front desk and speak with one of the hosts, she tell us how to get to the entrance the same way we came. I let her know I just called and we were told we would be let up because when we went to the door it had been locked. She checks something on the screen and says 'oh I believe we stopped with pool house at night last week. You were able to make a reservation? Weird' and that was that. Pool house wasn't open but we weren't notified. I had even gotten an email the day before asking me to confirm. If the pool house is in fact closed, please don't allow for reservations to be made. The reason we had even come downtown on a Saturday night was specifically to visit the pool house. Otherwise we would have done something else.

I was a beautiful place, but I'm not all sure if it's worth the bang for the buck. $17 cocktails are a bit steep

If you're looking for good music and a lively crowd at night this is the place for you. A live DJ on Friday and Saturday too until 10. The food was just average. The drinks were good however definitely on the pricy side coming in at 17$ a drink. The waiters are all really nice and quick and attentive. The crowds are usually really cool and you can easily strike up a conversation with anyone. I would give it a 5/5 if the drinks and food prices weren't so steep.
