It was our first time for dinner at the Promenade Cafe for my husband and I. Our guest from Sydney said it was the best seafood buffet he has ever had. So glad to have experienced the great variety of food with attentive and friendly staff.

Cocktails are terrible. Lamb was over cooked Service was good - Steven was the only redeeming factor. This is not the level of a Park Hyatt - it is very subpar - I wonder if it is because it is located off the radar in Canberra and there is no other substantial hotel chain to compete with and thus these low standards are accepted.

The food was superb, although we waited a long time for our main meal to arrive. But the wait was worth it! The food was delicious, one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was elegant and quiet. Service staff didn’t seem to understand my booking through opentable, spent a lot of time looking on the computer for it. I showed them the confirmation I had received on my phone. Overall our dining experience at the Hyatt Hotel Promenade cafe was expensive but worth it!

It was a very poor seafood buffet. There was no smoked salmon. Most of the time the platters were empty and to make additional trips. I did not see a place for pasta or soup and there should have been mor fish dishes in the hot buffet. I was very disappointed. We were seated in the opposite area of the restaurant right at the back. It was cold and we wore our jackets most of the time we were there. I have been to the seafood buffet previously and this time I was not impressed. It is very expensive for the quality of food available

Nice place to have a seafood buffet, great oyster and big tiger prawn. However, if you don't like seafood, selection of hot foods are quite limited. Dessert selection is ok Moreover, the price in OpenTable is outdated. Correct price for weekend dinner buffet is $105 instead of $78.

Although it is expensive and the menu is limited, the atmosphere, service and of course the quality of the food was absolutely superb on the night we were there. A quieter venue without any of that irritating over loud Muzak too many places like, and a great night out.

We were delighted with the variety of dishes that were part of the buffet, especially the seafood. All the buffet tables were arranged in an enticing manner. As we have been here many times before, we normally receive excellent service, but it seemed they were short-staffed at the time. We were looking forward to a pleasant dining experience as it was a birthday celebration, but we had to chase up our requests for water and drinks. Used plates started piling up on the table as they weren't taken away in a timely manner. We weren't provided with an ice bucket for the wine bottle. We could've stayed a little longer for coffee, but we called it a night earlier.

Seafood buffet dinner $90 per person. My wife and me expected something really nice, it's Hyatt at the end , isn't it? But noooo. It was terrible. Seafood section was : over salted cooked prawns which were nice size if nothing else , octopus salad with no chance to find octopus in there , miniature oysters with half of the shells empty , something that should be salmon and looks terrible and also small cooked but very dry mussels. That's about it regarding "seafood buffet" selection. There was 5 type of food in the hot food section including roast potato and plain boiled rice. Two type of roast , beef was not so bad but lamb was so undercooked that I thought it will jump of the table and start running around . Terrible experience! Never again !

As separately advised the Promonade was closed but we were able to eat elsewhere in the hotel.
