My family and I have eaten at Pyewipe quite a few times and the whole experience has been excellent. Although over an hours drive from our home it well worth the journey. The menu has not changed much over the years the special board and quality of food is excellent. Today all my family had a great time, service was good ambiance also good. Unfortunately I had the Duck disc one of the most expensive and I was very disappointed, I diid not want to make a fuss in front of family but all their plates were full, mine however had two small pieces of Duck and 20 small cubes of roasted vegetable. could have eaten two. This one issue will not stop me from eating there again but spoilt this occasion.

Food was lovely and the service was brilliant. The staff were welcoming and friendly and had picked up on the fact that it was my birthday and at the end of the meal surprised me with a Happy Birthday dessert which was a lovely touch and very much appreciated.

Food very good, but need to invest in better cutlery. Knives are blunt and had to tear food apart, unable to cut meat, Yorkshire puddings or roast potatoes

We chose The Pyewipe to celebrate my 50th birthday! Regrettably it was disappointing, the service was very slow, we arrived at 5.35pm, ordered food within 10-15 mins but did not actually get our starters until after 6.30pm. My Mum, who is 90, did not have a starter so had to wait around an hour and a half before her food arrived - far too long. My meal was ok, but unfortunately others chose things that were very poor - the garlic bread was small and not worth £4, the smoked duck special starter was very poor, how can that be served as an equivalent starter to the pork bonbons I had which were good? The same person who had the duck starter then chose sea bass for main, I felt very sorry for them as it was mainly a plate of 16 potatoes which they were not keen on and they said the sauce was weirdly sweet and not very nice. I had duck which I enjoyed but why aren't all the dishes up to that standard? - you can't recommend a place when there is such a discrepancy between the quality of the dishes.

Visited here after my sons graduation in Lincoln. Staff were very attentive and friendly. There was a wide choice of dishes to choose from. The taste and presentation of the dishes chosen were exceptional. Thank you to everyone for your hard work.

I first saw the Pyewipe from the A46, 4 years ago when my daughter started university in the city. I finally got there on graduation day, and it did not disappoint. I will be returning to visit the city at some point and after yesterday’s visit, I will be stopping there. I had the Stilton Stuffed Chicken Breast with Spring Onion Mash and Stilton Sauce…. It was to die for.
