   The restaurant states on the website they require to dress at a minimum business casual, so I did. Let’s just say I arrived feeling very under dressed. I made a reservation for 8:30 and arrived promptly on time at 8:29. The hostess stated she would not seat me until my reservation time and then I proceeded to wait in the lounge for 20 minutes (far past my reservation time) all while watching them seat folks who had come in after me. If they are busy that’s fine, but don’t claim you’re not seating me until my reservation time and then let me rot in the lounge. The stem of the glass they served me water in was Moulton hot while the butter was so ice cold it was un-spreadable. Our waitress was nice and the quail was very good. Our food came out delayed. We got the cowboy ribeye and as much as I wanted to like it. It came off as more of a bit that it was so big and not an actual good steak. It was more fat that anything else. If you’re looking for a cowboy ribeye, go to rare society. It’s a far better piece of meat for a fraction of the price. Idk the whole establishment was a little off. I almost felt they didn’t take me seriously because I didn’t dress as high end. I don’t believe we’ll be back as it was just a mid experience with a high price tag. Oh and valet? A**holes

   Service all around was excellent. All of the dishes were mouth watering delicious. Always a great experience dining here. Celebrating a milestone birthday here was very memorable.

   This restaurant is a must!!!! They are what you call “ Professionals” at what they do. From seating us down , to making sure everything was great at the end of our dinner. Service, Waiter, Drinks , Food, is all excellent. The 1hr /45min on the freeway was so worth this place. Wish you had one in Santa Monica. Can’t wait to go back . 👍🏾

   Shelia was our server and she was excellent as long as everyone else in the restaurant. Kept our water glasses full ha ha. Usually leave we have the prime rib but my husband had the lamb and said it was great and I had the Chilean Seabass. Love what came with both of them plus we shared an heirloom beet salad. Since it was my birthday, I picked a cream Brûlé and it was good. I also had two old fashions and my husband had Bombay Sapphire on the rocks. Great time as usual.

   The food was amazing. The service was even more amazing. The waiter overheard my date say that it was her mother’s birthday and that she had passed away and that my date missed her. At the end, our waiter, Juan, brought a creme de brûlée with a candle in it and “Happy Birthday “ written in chocolate drizzle on the plate. My date cried. It was an amazing end to a wonderful evening.

   My fillet was very tender, but tasteless. My wife’s pork chop was great. My fillet was room temperature at best. Once our meal was brought to us. I had to get up and ask for utensils after waiting six minutes. Asparagus was Woody, but the fried quail was good

   So we finally had a chance to check out The Ranch. First off, the design is very nice. It is clean and attractive. It has a modern steakhouse vibe. The lighting is dim, and the decorations are minimal. I'm not sure why the reservations specify a dress code. People were there wearing whatever. Someone was in sneakers. Another lady was barely wearing anything. So online it states business casual, but on the reservation confirmation, it stated smart casual. And that's kind of the crux of my main issue with the spot...it doesn't seem to know what it is. Is it a $180 a plate fine dining experience, or is it a restaurant with a cow on the wall? The dim lighting is nice and romantic, but we were sat by not one but two loud groups. The place is naturally loud to begin with, so it was almost annoying to have a group a few feet away, laughing loudly. They should consider a section for couples and another for the after work crowd. Behind the noisy space, emanating awkwardly from a speaker somewhere in the ceiling, is some country music like you'd hear at The Cracker Barrel. So The Ranch has a bit of an identity crisis in that respect. The food was very good. The two mains we ordered were both 8.5's. The sides were 7's. The salad was a 6. The dessert was OK. Not bad, but not great, either. So that brings me to value. It's too pricey for what it is. We picked the less expensive mains: around 60-70 a piece. They were very good but not worth the price imo. Our total was about $230 or so. There are a lot of restaurants in a 20-mile radius where you can get a much better meal for less than half that amount. So understand when you come here that you're paying for the ambiance. If you like loud and sleek and clean and dark, then definitely check it out. I wouldn't call it classy or fancy, but it is a nice place to go for a special occasion if you have the cash to blow. The service was excellent. I'd say better than average. Would I go back? Probably not.

    The restaurant was pretty empty so I don’t know why we had to wait 15 min after being seated to be greeted by our waiter. Once we got our order it was as is the waiter just disappeared, I had to stand up and grab someone to give me a refill on my drink and get me a desert menu
